Fun Gas Station Shop

Just saw the description on a $9 gas station shop complete with photos of all pumps, etc. described as "Fun gas station shop". I really don't think hanging out for that long at a gas station is my idea of fun.

You need to sniff more than the fumes to make those fun for $9.00. It is the beginning of the 3 month cycle. Let them go till the middle to end of November and the prices will begin to go up. December will be the highest fees for them. I wouldn't go till then, if I were you.

You are 'required' to be at the location for 30 minutes....according to the shop instructions....and it takes 10-15 minutes to input the results. $9 for 45 minutes worth of work, not including drive time does not sound like fun to me.

No, I don't want a free meal. I do this because I want to make money.
I did a photo gas station shop the other day it was my first one for this company, it was in a questionable neighborhood, and one of the customers asked me why I kept taking pictures. She wanted to know if I was a 'narc' The instructions on the shop said that if I didn't feel comfortable that I should not continue with the shop and just put it in my narrative. I did that and they put a hold on my shop and asked me to return!

LOL. This quote made my day.
pammie clearly when they say if you don't feel comfortable to not continue with the shop they really mean to continue with the shop even if you believe your life is in danger...
I do those shops all the time but I have learned to wait until the end of the quarter. Then they are $50 instead of $9, which is closer to what they are worth in my opinion. Just the gross, disgusting things you see in some gas stations make them worth the higher amount.

My favorite experience was the one where there was an advertisement for medical marijuana on one of the pumps. I noticed that station being re-shopped about a week after my report was turned in. I don't think was the kind of POP advertising corporate had in mind!
I've done those gas station shops in the past and they're just not worth it to me. I've done the ones near the border (AZ-Mexico border) where they usually sit because no one wants them or they're just not convenient so they pay really well by the end of the quarter. Well lots of people carry guns openly in those border areas and more than a few times, I was asked by people with guns why I was taking photos, what I was doing there, who sent me, etc. In one fairly remote location, it felt like if I didn't give an answer they liked, my body would be deposited in the desert never to be found. So I stopped doing those fun shops regardless of how much they pay.

I did few of gas shops last months for $30 each and this month I see them for $9. Not worth it for sure considering that it takes about an hour to resize, upload and match all the photos. Going to wait and see what happens.
Hahaha wow!!

Why doesn't the scheduler return to that area and take pics? winking smiley

These were some of the first shops I did. I just happened to have joined what was then Shop N Chek right as they were making a lot of these shops $25 to $50. I was bummed because I had 4 shops for $40 lined up once and two of them got cancelled.
When I was a newbie, I did the "Take TONS of pictures of the Pumps" Shop.

I was paid $6.50.

I was brand new to shopping and did not want to ruin my "budding reputation." smiling smiley

I did this photo taking in pouring rain, (the kind of rain that goes at an angle, right in your face) and tried to hold the umbrella, the camera and the notes.... (oh, and tried not to get the camera wet)

The guidelines now say to reschedule this shop if it is raining, as that affects the quality of some of the photos.

I was scared to death to cancel. It was only my 3rd shop ever done. Newbie. smiling smiley

I never have been scared to reschedule or even cancel if the situation required it. Not even as a newbie or when shopping with a new company. I would rather cancel than flake, even if it's within 24 hours of the shop time.
