Scheduler that does not call back

I was assigned bank shop for the end of September to do at a bank in Southrn California. There was supposed to have been a coaching session before the shop was done or a video to watch in order to do the shop.
The scheduler never called me and I have called the scheduler five times and written e-mails to the scheduler at least two times. I went ahead and did the shop; as I felt that watching the video was enough in order to learn how to do the shop.
I have been doing mystery shops for 12 years, and never have I had a scheduler ignore my phone calls or write me the same thing over and over to tell me the same thing. I have written to both the scheduler and another person at Intellishop and was told the same thing.
I called today to talk to someone at the company and was told that now they have an issue with the scheduler and that I should have called before. The scheduler did not do his part; yet I did what I was supposed to do. Now I have been told their would be no reimbursement for this shop. I am wary of working with this company or this schedular again. Shoppers, be aware that some schedulers just do not do their job that they are supposed to do to help us get it right for their own companies.

Unbelievable! Yes please DO name the company. And if you hadn't done the shop you would have been marked down as a flake.
Intellishop is in the third paragraph.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
If you did everything that was specified in the guidelines why will they not reimburse you. This sounds like something that you can fight.
I would have cancelled and taken the flake. (I don't cancel shops) but in this case, you were being ignored and not given the full "tools" needed, to do the shop.

I would have also tried to call. (if possible)smiling smiley
If you wrote to both the scheduler and anothe person, and called in addition in order to get further instructions, it seems to me that you did everything you could. And you should not be held responsible for your scheduler's failure to respond!

I agree with jwolpert; this sounds like you have a legitimate rationale for fighting this, especially if they've admitted there's a problem with this scheduler.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I ran into that problem as well. Believe it or not, it was with Bare. They NEVER respond to me. At any rate, sorry to hear about that. If you have proof, like emails, I would forward on. But I've learned better to not take that assignment. Yeah I got dinged by a few MSCs but you know what, it's not my fault that they don't respond when I email them days in advance with questions and not get a response. In the end, you gotta think about yourself. You don't owe any MSC to perform a job that isn't clarified. Now, for some schedulers and editors that have worked with me, I really do try and accommodate when they've supported me.
lol Intelli-shop

So many folks here have had a problem with them one way or another.. very shocking to read these stories when your experience has been pleasant.

I think you did everything you could.

I had that problem with BARE too. When I called them out on that, the scheduler threatened to drop my rating.

Good advice though - at the end of the day, you have to think about you and whether you did what was in your power to add something positive to the situation.

For the record, my one shop to date with Intellishop went smoothly. I have yet to take an assignment from BARE.
