Jobslinger - why?

Thanks to this forum (or is it "these fora"?), I signed up with jobslinger a couple weeks ago. Completed everything. They haven't a single shop available for me.

I'm wondering why anyone would PAY for this service? Or do you have to have a paid subscription to actually see any shops available?

Thanks.

No, basic Job Slinger is free and works quite well. What you do have to do is to link it to the affiliated MSCs with whom you have signed up. If you have not done so, you will not see any shops.

Jobslinger started life as a job board primarily used by the same companies who use the Sassie platform. The paid version has some features not available through the free version, but to my knowledge they are unrelated to searches. I just went to the site and without even logging in was able to use the search function to pull up 349 assignments. I have never had anything but the freebie.

wales and I cross posted. I do question the part about linking companies. I was not able to see the shop description until after logging in. My search showed me assignments for companies I had never even heard of and had never linked to my account.

Wow. Thanks for the info. Maybe I did something wrong? I even logged in, see nothing within 200 miles of where I live (which includes Metro Denver, Colorado, and I have trouble believing no one has a single shop in Denver!). I'm not sure what you mean by "linked" to companies.

Go to the Connections section of the Jobslinger board and take it from there, cease.

I agree with LisaSTL. I've never paid a penny to avail myself of the Jobslinger site. I'm sure those that pay get some preferential service, but I'm fine without paying for it.

I just put in the zip code of 80022 and brought up 513 shops. If you are putting in 200 miles that is the problem. The max distance it will accept is 99.

No, I put in the ZIP for Denver, and got nothing.

Denver's within driving distance for me.

Especially if I can locate a hotel shop to spend the night!

The zip I used is only 10 miles from Denver and it brought up shops in Denver. If you are using the advance search and putting in 200 miles it will not work. Try it again with 99 miles since that is the maximum allowed.

I put in my zip code and see 621 shops within 99 miles. I'm in the metro Denver region.
I guess I wasn't clear. I put in the ZIP for Denver because it's 200 miles from where I live. I did NOT put 200 miles in for the radius.

Thank you.
