The BEST way to try and increase your number of available jobs is to apply, apply, apply!

You never know which companies shop somebody in your area, so register with as many companies as you can. If they don't have shops in you area, the most you're out is a little time spent registering with them.

Another way is to PROVE you are dependable, accurate, non-judgmental, articulate in your reporting and complete in your reports. By doing this, you'll prove to your Schedulers that you know what you're doing. As you build a relationship with them, let them know that you're willing to help them out with "last minute" shops if needed. They only get paid for completed shops, so they'll soon remember that you did THEM a favor and will be more inclined to offer YOU the shop before they post it for anyone to take.

Also, (while you DON'T NEED to be "certified"winking smiley I recommend that you invest the $15 (as soon as you're able and assuming that you're not already) to become MSPA Silver certified. If you can't do it for a while, then get the FREE ShadowShopper CertiShopper certification.

I've found that it's a hard reality that while few companies REQUIRE that you be certified, all other things being equal, about 9 out of 10 Schedulers will tend to give the job to an MSPA certified shopper (or at least to a shopper with SOME kind of certification) over one that is NOT certified at all.

Good Luck!
