Scheduler Voice Mail---Please Mention Shop!

I really, really wish all schedulers would specify which shop they are calling to schedule when leaving voice mail messages. It would save so much time. Lately, I will not call them back unless they tell me what the shop is for.

It is a matter of time management. I work full time plus, and then squeeze in shops whenever feasible, without killing myself. I love self-assignment shops, which are easy to schedule at the last minute. If I have to chase down a scheduler who doesn't tell me what the shop is, I just move on.

Luckily, there are more shops than I have time for. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind the phone tag to get details.
I agree I wish they would leave messages and give a good idea of what the shop is.

Right there with you, IMT. What's the shop, where's it at, when's it due, what's it pay?
"Grocery shop in Podunk for $30 needs done today or tomorrow" = return call.
"Some shops available in your area" = delete.
Difference in time leaving the message = 2 seconds.
(Email offers without price also get deleted.)
I know what you mean. It doesn’t help to hear, “This is Soandso, from Whoesy-What’s-It. I have a project I was hoping you could help me with. If you are available, call me back at…”

I don’t call back without an idea what that project is.

Honestly with me it depends. I get tons of emails but only get phone calls from one company that has west coast numbers that give crappy amounts and east coast numbers that are super nice friendly people. If I get a missed call from the latter without even a message I call them back.

I don't call anyone back unless details are left on my voice mail including the name of the location to be shopped and the pay rate. I don't have time to spend chasing down schedulers.
Interesting! A few years ago, I was advised--by a person younger than I--if the caller is <40, they never leave VMs;>40, they always leave VMs. I'm finding this to be somewhat true.

So Maritz leaves you 2 voice mails for every call?

What if the scheduler says, "I'm calling about a Rack Shop and you think she is calling about Hooters? smiling smiley
