Great money-making app for mystery shoppers

I read about Receipt Pal on a phone app forum and downloaded it and this is a great app for us mystery shoppers. You just photograph all your receipts which gives you points you can cash in for gift cards. Since we get a lot of receipts we can get the gift cards relatively quickly. I just snapped this weeks receipts and already have a gift card! Thought y'all might be interested.

Only thing though, only available on iPhone for right now (I think).

Hi jp, sounds interesting, but their website isn't all that informative, so I have lotsa questions. What type of threshold do you have to reach to get a gift card? Is it monetary or per # of receipts? What are the amounts of the gift cards? What kind of gift cards are they?

Looks interesting, but you're right; it looks to only be available for the iPhone. Bummer for those of us who use Androids.

Receipt Hog does the same, and it's for iPhone and Android. I just started using it, so not sure how long it takes to earn cash via paypal or gift card on Amazon.com.

Edited to add that Receipt Hog only takes grocery receipts.

I have Receipt Hog but I like this app MUCH more. Receipt Hog is pretty much only grocery but Receipt Pal is any receipt (except utilities). Since most of us get a lot of receipts in a day we stack up the rewards pretty fast. Stillearning the gift cards come in all different amount for different companies. I worked it out at 8 cents a receipt. If you just keep your receipts for a week and then snap away it adds up pretty fast. You get point for each receipt and when you get a certain amount of points you redeem for a gift card. As I said I just scanned receipts for the week and already have a $3 gift card if I want to cash it in. Kind of like money for nothing from my perspective.
Thanks for the tip, jpgilham! I just downloaded the app, and it looks like there's a lot of options for Amazon gift cards, which I really love. I've already started uploading receipts. My only problem is about half the time I try to upload a receipt, it times out. Maybe its my internet connection (though I have no problem emailing items). Still, I appreciate the tip and will continue to upload and earn some Amazon bucks!
I uploaded the limit of 20 receipts on ReceiptPal. jpgilham, Is 20 a weekly limit? TIA!

Looks like it takes about 62 receipts to earn a $5 Amazon gift card. Not sure it's worth the time.

It took 5 minutes to snap and upload my first 20 receipts (that was the limit). Approx. 15 min. for 62 receipts, that's not bad at all. I just can't figure out when I can upload my next set of 20 receipts.

I started using receipt hog and looked up how many coins you need to earn a reward. According to two sources, you need 1,000 coins! Bearing in mind that the coins add up in the following manner: $10-$50 = 10 coins; $50-$100 = 15 coins; $100+ = 20 coins, it would take a long time. Also, the reward is only $5!

I generally spend over $100 on each trip, but even if your receipt is $200-300, still only 20 coins. I spend $1000 a month for a family of six, probably split up over 5 trips, which equals only 100 coins per month. It would take me 10 months of this type of spending to earn a measly $5! I quit using it...I don't want to give away all my spending habits to some company for that cheap of a payback. I'd rather do a better job of paying attention to coupons, especially the Meijer mPerks and Kroger online coupons and save $5 each trip! (which I'm sure I could do, if not more)
