New burger shop requirements

I just got a call from a scheduler for one of those burger shops, you know - for the chain that is owned by a small odd-numbered group of gentlemen? It was for this weekend and I had some things going on, but since it was decently bonused, I took it.

Got the paperwork downloaded, and surprise! The requirements were apparently updated and you can order whatever entree and whatever size you want now! Yes, including a hot dog, veggie sandwich or grilled cheese! Thought that was interesting.... I may just have to "mix it up" on this next shop! The reimbursement max stayed the same though, so can't get *too* crazy.

(As good as those burgers are, I was getting a trifle tried of 'em).

Really?! Thank goodness, I am also tired of the burgers. I rejoiced when the fries came in a smaller size.
Thats wonderful! They always BEG me to take them and I do not like the burgers. I may assign one if I can get a veggie burger.
I noticed that they decreased their starting pay for that shop by $1 for some of the shop times. I only do them if they are bonused, but that I always hate to see shop pay go down.
That is good news. I really wanted to try some of the other items. I was also really glad when they introduced the small fry.

I wish there was a kiddie size fry to order. Even the small fry with the "extra scoop" is too much for me. Now, if they'd only add milkshakes to the menu. . .
I love Google. The previous post mentioned extra scoop with fries and now I know. But...there are none within 90 miles of my town. I love their food, too.
Don't everyone start celebrating and just ordering what you want for any one of those shops. Those are specific shops that you can do that for and I see none on my list right now. Yes, the hot dogs are good, too. One of them had me call in the order as well. In that case, it was not a menu free-for-all type shop.
Is there a way to tell what kind of shop it is before accepting it? Does the short description on the available shop list indicate that the shop is not the normal one and you can order a non beef burger or hot dog?

It's not a veggie burger like a Gardenburger or a Morningstar Farms patty. What they call a veggie burger is just toppings (veggies) on a bun!
But I am thrilled to see we can get a hot dog, which is better (and cheaper) than the burgers.
I just entered the shop and noticed while doing so that it shows up with the word "pilot" in my history. So I am guessing they are testing this out. The report was very similar to the "standard" one with some variations due to the product (i.e. some burger-specific questions could now be answered "N/A" if like me you order a hot dog). Hope the trend continues, I like the freedom of choice!
Is it just me or do the new guidelines say "Only order fries or a drink, NOT both"?
No, that's right - you're supposed to pick ONE and see if the cashier suggests the other one. So instead of only ordering a burger and standing around with a blank expression until the cashier says something, now you can order entree of your choice + either drink OR fries and THEN stand around with a blank expression until the cashier says something.
Well, as a non-shopper, I've done a lot of ordering a burger, with no drink and no fries. So, I'd be standing there waiting for them to ring me up, anyway--probably would have a blank expression, since it's my usual expression at the best of times.

I mean, once you've ordered, it's the cashier's job to either ring you up, or try to do a little selling. So, they're the ones standing around like an idiot, not you.

So if we order just one, either fries or a drink and they do not upsell, do we still need to purchase the item that was not ordered? For their regular shops, you still have to order both fries and drink.
Yay, I'm excited to go back to them again. Was getting so tired eating the same thing.

You're still required to end up with all 3 items. You need to wait for the cashier to suggest, and if they don't you are supposed to order the missing item after the order is totaled if they have not suggested it.
Thanks Sphikus, I was hoping that I could order less since I don't like to drink soda. But I guess not.
