LOL...Is this the dreaded Swedish Furniture Shop? Ahem...

Is this the notorious Swedish Furniture Shop (not sure if it is ok to list the name) that everyone hates? It seems they have lowered the pay by $15. LOL. Wow!!

Quality Scheduling Group LLC is currently scheduling retail shops at a nationwide home furnishings retailer.

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POSTING BEFORE APPLYING!

These shops are extremely detailed. We recommend these shops be completed by experienced mystery shoppers. Attention to detail and understanding of intricate instructions is of the utmost importance.

You will be evaluating several different departments throughout a large retail store. You will be evaluating customer service standards, overall appearance of the store, ability to easily locate items by their tags, food service, and you will be asked to purchase and return an item. A small purchase from the restaurant is also required. You will be returning the same item you purchase from the store. The purchase can be made with a credit card or cash. You will be immediately returning the item the same day

There is a flat fee for this shop. (The fee has been figured to include your food expenses. There is no additional reimbursement.)
The shop should take an average of 2 hours in the store. If you are not familiar with the layout of this store or with the details of the assignment, it could take longer. The report is detailed and could take an hour or longer to complete. You may shop each location every 30 days. Feel free to re-apply for a location you have shopped in the past if 30 days have passed. Reports are due within 12 hours after completion of your shop.

These shops pay $45 - $50 each, via PayPal.

Last month I was waiting when they bonus the shop to $70 because I was interested in trying to work on that horrible report but they never did. Appearantly, there are shoppers who take it a lower pay. $45 sounds good untill you divide it by 5(?) hours that it will take to complete the shop and write the report.
Yep, that is ---- - I recognize the city where I used to live and there is a huge ____. I would think twice unless you have an entire day with nothing to do.

Sorry Jacob - I edited myself - did not mean to mention the name of the client - my bad.
For sure "that place." I LOVE to shop there, would HATE to "shop" there!!!!! NO WAY I would do the mystery shop for $40-$50 unless it was one department only and maybe the cafe.
Given the four-month wait between shop and paydate anyway (which doesn't matter because you wait the four months then don't get paid so you have to fight to get paid), the amount they are offering is totally not worth it. It wasn't worth it at $65 when I made the mistake of doing it and definitely wouldn't be worth doing for $45. You're better off picking up three cell phone shops at $15 each; you'd make the same dollar amount but be done with your shops and report way before you'd even be done doing the on-site portion of this shop.
I think they should make t-shirts that say, "I survived the <Swedish Furniture Store shop!". Anyone want one?

Moderator note: Oops! You named the client - tsk tsk!! I know you know better. smiling smiley The MSC is in the OP. It's a bit hidden, but it's there.

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
My guess is that the shop pays the same and the scheduling company may be shaving a bit off to account for bonuses, and a little something for themselves....
I've done those shops in the past and after the first time had it down, it was a lot of work but okay at the old price, just doesn't cut it now.
I've said for awhile the MSC may be having financial difficulties. Four months to pay then the shopper still has to e-mail and beg for payment ... something's not right there. Avoid them like the plague. They're simply not worth the hassle.
That is a horrendous and arduos shop with a huge form to fill out. They should be paying $100 plus because it's actually 7 or 8 shops in one. Avoid this shop at all costs.
The locations that are not included in the above list are advertised for $65 today.
That same MSC now has apartment shops around here for $20. I looked at what was available, and out of the four they had, two have been taken.
Ah, I'm glad I didn't take it! One of the locations is actually quite close to me, but when I saw 1 to 2 hours in the store (which probably means 3 hours for me), I figured the report would take just as long and that's a whole day just for one shop.
I did this shop when it paid $75 but I don't think I would ever do it again; the shop and report were arduous. I would prefer to do more less intensive shops for that fee.
Perhaps only new shoppers are doing them. It's like a rite of passage into the biz or something haha
Okay, I do have one good thing to say about this MSC -- I got a lot of experience doing apartment shops with them (well, in comparison to other MSCs). I've never had as many opportunities with any other MSC. While it really sucked to have to fight to get paid, I am grateful for being able to get the apartment shop experience.
Taking an "certain horrible furniture shop" for $15 dollars when the work is worth $100, is akin to picking up a "supposedly empty" shot gun and waving it, firing empty shots in the air tongue sticking out smiley

The OP said the shop was lowered by $15. The shops are $45-$50.

If you go back to Sept 17, 2013 there are many postings about the change on this report and posters experiences. Just search 90 days and the name of this store.

I'm usually good at analogies, but would you care to explain that one to me? I can't think of any similarity whatsoever. True, I've never done that furniture shop, but even visualizing my worst nightmare of something that took from store opening to store closing, and once I got home, I realized I'd missed a few essentials--even visualizing that, I can't pick up on the analogy.
The question is, who the heck is willing to do this for $45-50? The instructions from the scheduler seem honest, listing it as a lengthy shop, etc. It is not like new shoppers aren't forewarned.
I misunderstood.smiling smiley

I thought the poster said "lowered the pay to $15" but it was "lowered the pay by $15"
There aren't any of these stores in my state, but I learned enough from this board in the first week to avoid this shop no matter what! Sounds like more work than I'd be willing to do for $100 fee.
Sometime in the near future there will be one opening here. Obviously there is no way I would shop the store and I don't even have any interest in going just to check out the place. I never have understood the fascination and horse meatballs are abhorrent to me.

One of these stores was built within walking distance of my home. I'll be walking in the other direction......winking smiley

I still like going to the store, but I go there very rarely. The shop, OTOH, was, simply, a nightmare. I'd go back to those stores, though, as a regular shopper.
In my area, the shops have all been claimed except for one of them. I have seen it posted by a scheduling company and by the MSC at the same time - both the same pay.

When I first started shopping I got tricked into doing one of these shops. Not that stupid now!

About six months back when they could not fill the shop they offered with "Great Bonus" and at $70 including the bonus, it was still a no go for me. After seeing the bonus go up to $10 ($80 total) I emailed the scheduler and offered to complete the shop for $125. I had done one before and they scored me with a 10/10 so they knew I could complete the shop. Scheduler said "it is not a name your price shop," and since they never named my price I have never done one again.

When I saw it posted for $45, I had to scrape my teeth off the table and place them back inside my mouth! Then I saw the shops were claimed and I had to pinch myself.

Still can not believe it!
