Strange request

I recently was offered an assignment to visit a gravestone maker... has anyone else been offered such strange assignments? How did you deal with them?

I'm new to mystery shopping and haven't gotten any such offers.

What did the gravestone maker want you to do?????
Well, it was the usual rigamarole -- check out the store and customer service. But the catch was, I had to pretend that my husband had recently died!
I just hate it when the scenario wants you to outright lie. They could be more creative or let us be. I wouldn't have taken that job unless the money was good. That's one thing about this, we don't have to take jobs.
Hi Marie,
I live in the St. Louis area, & I have never been ask to go to a grave site, but the one job that I did do was to a Senior Villa & I also had to pretend that I was looking into the Villa's as a place to live & wanted to look the facility over & verify how clean it was, how polite the staff was, & the lady that I talk to was so nice that I really felt guilty, as she even had me come at a time when they were having lunch & she was intorducing me to all of these older ladies & men, (like I'm a kid (i'm 69) so I had all of these nice old ladies & men saying how they were looking forward to me becoming a resident Y living there. It was a very beautiful place & I would live there in a heartbeat is I could afford. But that is impossible.

No I have never heard of that before, must have sounded scary. But if you need some good contacts just let me know oacia5804@yahoo.com
It was a bit odd -- so I turned it down. I'm a newlywed so I didn't think I'd be convincing in shopping for a gravestone for my new husband and it just seemed like plain old bad luck!
did you really have to use your husband it would have been better if you could have used someone who had actually died like look up a name in the obit and pretend to be related or something. the whole scenario thing is about play acting.
Wow never experienced that one. I know exactly what you mean about just not fitting the scenario. Sometimes lying will just trip you up and then ya look like a fool. Better to take a job that you can relate to in your life rather than making up lies I think some people can see right through it. If they would just allow us to make up a scenario fitting I think it would be a better shop. KWIM.
