Papa John's rotation

I've been missing my PJ since they are no longer with a certain company. I am seeing them with 2 different companies currently. Not doing them for no fee and rarely see them with the company that starts with the same fee as the company that no longer has them. About 20 PJ jobs were there when I looked a few minutes ago. I miss them enough that I'll do them for the starting fee. I chose one and now they are all gone! Wow.....what the heck is the rotation on these? With the old company I used to do 3 of them at one time.

I did one last month for one of the other companies. I was offered a $5 bonus and she upped to $7. Big deal and I will not do them for just the pizza. I don't like them that much.
Are they shopping around for a new MSC or something? In my area last year they were always with one company that also did competitor shops for them at Pizza Hut and Domino's. I would also see them with 2 other companies in other places an hour away. Now it seems the first company is gone and both of the other 2 companies have them in my area. Very odd. I haven't done them in awhile. I get tired of pizza quickly.

At one time they were with three different MSCs simultaneously. Word on the street is they are an extremely difficult client. Obviously John has a high opinion of himself and his product so he would probably be galled to think people would not be willing to do everything the job requires just for one of his "superior" pies.

I get the impression Papa John wears Ed Hardy and listens to Creed and Nickelback.

Yes, I refuse to do one of these for reimbursement only. It is a hassle to call, take notes, wait for delivery, take several pictures, then edit, crop or etc, and do up a report.
These pizzas are definitely not that good! In fact I don't even eat them. I do them only occasionally as a treat for the spouse, and only if there is a bonus attached.
Oh and it bothers me that they only do $1 included for delivery driver tip, so I always dock $1 off my profit to make it $2.
Maybe all the Botox injections have taken their toll. At least he finally looks somewhat normal after the bad facelift years ago.

I just now looked at the guidelines for the ONE PJ I was allowed to sign up for and am glad I was not allowed to take more. Don't know if this is new or not but it's definitely new for me. Not allowed to order ANY toppings, more slicing, and more pictures. At least the report looks like it was shortened a bit though.
i have one .8 mi frm my front door.

i don't like them.. toppings now are VERY sparse.

there is ALWAYS an issue w/the photos.

the co emails/cell calls/home calls frequently since i told them where i live (very close to one)

however, i was told it was ok if i did them wkly??????
all the ones in my area were sitting for weeks. i let them get nice and big and took them. got greedy and asked for a bonus and i guess they got someone else to take it so they wouldn't have to pay me more. havent seen them since.
I've only had one issue with a Papa John's shop, and it was entirely my fault for being sloppy with my photography. They did give me a reshop, though... If you are careful and take the absolute best pictures you can, you shouldn't have any issues.

In my area, most Papa John's are done by one company where they all start at reimbursement only (but I am not shy about asking for bonuses), and one location by another company where they start at $5+R. I'm not sure about the other companies that do them. I'd love to do this same shop for, say, Domino's, but I doubt with their price point that they do mystery shops at all.

I have heard it's a 30 day rotation (at least with the main company that does them) but they will say "to hell with the rotation" and let the bonuses fly once it gets late enough in the month and there are still shops on the board. I've actually done two shops within 3 days of each other, and might have been made on the second one.

In my neighborhood with the msc I use they have raised the tip to $2 but the instructions still say $1. I found this out when I spoke to them about the small tip amount. I also mentioned that with the delivery charge if I am not "offered" the special price I will be out of pocket around $5 as the regular price is $17.99 + $2.99 for delivery + tax and tip. They were able to up my bonus to cover.
I have not had PJ for years but was pleasantly surprised at the improvement in their pizzas when I took a job with a bonus recently. But still I can get a much bigger better pizza across the street from PJ for $9.99 at a place that gives you cheese packets!
I'm a pizza snob, and think PJ is gross, but my son loves it and will beg me to order it every month or so. If it weren't for him, I would not take the shops. I'm doing my first one today with the "other" company - we'll see how it goes!
The stated rotation for one of the MSCs is 90 days, but they can waive them. I also have been told that it is a difficult client.

Twice over the years, I have been removed from shopping one location. Boo-hoo. The restriction stays in place for one year, and then the phone calls immediately resume. I think I'm still allowed to shop the one location, unless I got bounced again. The last one I did was bonused $20, but $7 is the norm. I don't like the pizzas, but my husband, son and son's dog dosmiling smiley Too bad that the ordering requirements are so restrictive. The spinach and chicken alfredo on thin crust isn't bad.
Papa John's is the only shop I've ever failed, and I refuse to do them these days. Their picture requirements are insane.

That's amazing that the regular price is that much! Here they are always on sale, as the price for the pizza is about $12 before other stuff is tacked on.
Can you please send me the information for which MSC papa john's uses? I would really like to complete papa john's mystery shops!!

Ellen
Ellen, no one can disclose that info. It's an ICA violation. Sign up for lots of companies and you'll find it.

1) We can't do that, ICA/confidentiality agreements and forum rules.
2) As an experienced shopper, I would say if you haven't seen a Papa John's shop by now, you aren't signed up with enough companies and need to go on a couple more signup binges.
And you would think "John" would eventually figure out he just lost a huge hunk of customers via the long line of us not picking "John" as our pizza of choice on our own. Guess they do not care.
I have one w/in walking distance of our house, therefore, I NEVER get a bonus.. the co calls/emails me all the time.. The pizzas are never the same - less and less toppings. And, you can only get 1-3 toppings, so I hate that. personally, i find it a waste.
I just did my first one of these for the company that starts are reimbursement only (I'd done the other company a few times before), because they called with a bonus on a night when I was contemplating pizza anyway. I was so afraid of my photos getting rejected! The report is easy, but I thought the photo upload where you have to open a separate window to add each photo was a pain, and made a simple shop take way more time than it needed to. Luckily, it looks like the photos met standards.
Just got a desperate call last week and left the house to do the shop 20 minutes later (with two toddlers in tow) for a $40 bonus! Glad I brought the camera with me because half of it was gone by the time we got home smiling smiley Score for Mom!
Hope they accept the pics from what must have been an in the car view.
Hard to get the angles right on the kitchen table much less a car.

I take the shops when bonused, do other shops while waiting on the delivery and eat one piece of pizza (as that satisfies any craving I may have at the time.)
The rest of the pizza is perfect to give to my teenage son who then promptly devours it.
This is great as it saves on grocery bill to fill him up.

The current main company told me that the rotation is 30 days except in certain areas where there aren't enough shoppers. In those areas, they waive the rotation when you talk to them. This company seems to call a lot and even though they have self assign, it's better (more profitable) to talk to someone instead.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
