Kia Phone Shops

OMG!

Have you seen them?

Pays $5.00 to call and inquire about pricing on a certain model.

The calls are recorded.

I thought cool, easy (enough) money and signed up for a bunch of them.

I pull up the report, narrative after each section with a final

"Detailed narrative of the entire call from start to finish"

All that for $5.00

I just emailed the sceduler to cancel my shops.

They need to farm those out to India if that is the price they want to pay.

I cannot make any money this month at all.

No shops in my area paying anything right now, kinda depressing.

Most of the shops that I've done for that MSC have to be bonused, or I won't even touch them. I've had terrible experiences with their schedulers and editors, and even with payments. They are the only MSC that has not paid me for some shops.

RUN away from those phone shops, and also from the regular $17 visits. Not worth it!

Some of the MSC's (Not this one -- I got the email too! LOL), only let you see the good shops after you have done so many with them. If there is nothing in your area paying good, it might be time to pick up some lesser paying ones just to get your completed score up to see the good ones.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.

Last month I earned just under $2,000 - I have done tons of shops.

It is just weird this month - tons of retail type shops that pay only $10.00

I will not do them for that price.

No new car dealer shops (I do tons of those) except for those $17 shops and I am not doing them for that price.

The only thing paying around me is FF and while the shops are easy I cannot stand the food and my waist line can't either.
With my previous experiences with that MSC I did not dare to apply for any of these phone call shops. I was afraid that this would require to much narrative for a $5 shop. So, thanks for the posting I will not be tempted to get any of these. Well, at least not for that price. They may sometime give decent bonus, e.g. $70 for the "regular" $17 automotive shop.

I knew there was a trick to it and it would be way too much work for the amount of money paid. If the call is recorded why on earth are tons of narratives needed? No way calling a dealer who wants to sell you something is going to be quick and/or easy.
I got an e-mail from one of their schedulers begging for help with a hotel valet shop. Reimbursement was okay, but the fee was low. I e-mailed the scheduler back asking if the shop was bonused. I got a return e-mail with a one word response, "No". I sure as hell can't help out for that stinky little amount. I'm sure some college student will snap it up though. It's hard to consider working for this MSC for so little money.
Good to know. I keep getting these emails everyday. Annoying that it is recorded then you have to do a narrative.
I did these. One shop took me about 6 minutes on the phone and the other 30. The narrative takes less then 10 minutes to write. The time difference was one guy didn't try to sell me and the other talked in great detail about the car to give me all the information he could.
I keep seeing these too but don't like phone shops. Thanks for the heads up.

Floating around like a feather hoping the wind will set me down somewhere awesome.

They are not quick or easy and the narratives are long and redundant. The legality of uninformed recordings in a two party state are another matter for another thread.
Thanks for the heads-up on these shops. Extended narrative on a recorded shop is absurd.

No fee, no shop.
I did one of these calls yesterday. I found it hard to obtain an exact best price on the phone. The guidelines said no ballpark figure... need the exact amount. I think I did ok trying to get the salesperson to give me an exact number but even he wasn't sure if that's the 'exact' best price. He said 'you never know when you get into the dealership...we try our best to please our customers'.

Have another one to do today. Let's hope this one goes better.
How long did it take you to write the narritives and also how long was the phone call?

Thanks!

I usually ignore any e-mail offer with CASH capitalized and followed in a word or two by an !. You know the pay is going to be crappy and the report long and redundant. As nanabelle says ... just say NO.
I did one and it took about 30 minutes. I was just insistent, and kept asking for the "exact MSRP" and the the "exact best price". My "best price" came in at $194 over MSRP, and the survey seemed upset about that when I said it. It said the best price should be below the MSRP...so we will see. Mine was not recorded because of the state I am in. I wouldn't say it was worth it per se, but I just signed up with a bunch of new companies and it was my first shop with them, so I figured it got my foot in the door.

Are you talking to me?

I have done many shops with this company.

I signed up for 3 of these phone shops as they "were EASY recorded phone shops"

After I signed up for them and reviewed the guidelines I saw all the narrative (which makes no sense since they are recorded) and canceled them.

The final narritive is "detail your phone call from start to finish"

I am not doing that for the sum of $5.00

I will not devalue myself in that mannor.

I am worth more than that and will not allow myself to be taken advantage of.
