is the full odometer reading legally required for irs tax purposes?

Good catch, Lisa. That post could have been copied and pasted all over the internet based on a search of discussions about "mileage deductions." Hit and run spamming. I'll bet some of us googled that item and found it even without a link being provided. Few newbies just happen to stumble over a six month old post of interest and decide to respond to it, and no other, and then leave.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

The name of the mileage tracker was provided. I just Googled it out of curiousity. Interesting concept, but you still have to go in, designate which destinations are "business", and add justifications to the "automatic" log which is stored online for you to download.

I am going to stick with my Excel spreadsheet, bolstered by third party receipts which show odometer readings during the year.

I sent off a PM. I am betting that I don't get any reply. If I do, I will let this group know. {I asked what kind of mystery shops they do, for how long, and how the GPS tracker has helped them.}
