Grocery Store Shops

So in Colorado, I did two grocery stores. One was $20 reimbursements with a $10 pay and the other was $30 with a $10 pay. They were lucrative as I loved their merchandise and it was like getting free upscale food. Now in the south, I am finding only two grocery chains shopped -- both are $10 pay but only $3 reimbursed. For that they expect the same number of interactions as the two out west. And the food selection is low end. Am I missing the obvious here? Or did I just have a really good deal in Colorado?

Well, what grocery stores are there in your area? You're not going to find a natural foods supermarket shop unless there's a natural foods supermarket somewhere around.

Are there high end supermarkets in your area?

What is a high end supermarket? I see the same name stores in wealthy areas who just change what they carry. Are there some names that are all high end?
Here in So.Cal our grocery shops range from Food 4 Less (a small, nasty version of WinCo) to several of the large Mexican chains to higher end like Gelson's, Jensen's and Whole Foods. Fees range from $7 with $10 reimbusements to $70 reimbursements with no fee. In other words, they are all over the place.
I'm in NC and it's $10 with a $3 reimbursement and the company takes a long time to pay (by my standards two months is a long time). You did have a great deal in Colorado! I never take them unless they're bonuses even though the store is just a mile away.
This came up a few years ago. To me Whole Foods would be on the list. In my area we have a couple of local stores which are only located in upper income neighborhoods. Two of the three major local chains have stores all over the metro area and while some offerings are consistent across the chains, they both have stores with more of an upscale focus. Usually that includes a much larger selection of organic foods, wider varieties of wine/liquor, meat/seafood and gourmet fare, in house European style bakeries, floral departments in partnership with interior designers and in store coffee houses. Recently some of the stores have started to sell wine by the glass and have live music. The thought of grocery shopping with a glass of wine while listening to somebody play guitar really cracks me upsmiling smiley Those stores have also been hosting book signing with celebrity chefs. Totally by accident I ended up at one of them and got to meet Anne Burrell from the Food Network.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

dspeakes and Lisa - Thanks for the info. I guess it's more of an urban thing. AJ's in AZ is owned by Basha's but they are only in the Phoenix metro area. I have never been in one. We don't have a Whole Foods and I don't think they have been in PHX for long. We have local grocers where you can get a massage, but they only have two stores.

The things that you speak of, Lisa I have seen some of in regular markets (Safeway in Sedona) but not the wine by the glass or the celebrity chefs. But we have plenty of local celebrity chefs. The income level is very high there with many lots going for a million or more, but they are more outdoor oriented and more into art and dining out than shopping. Perhaps the population base is not high enough.

Did Anne do any cooking there? Her food always looks so good to me!
Now getting a massage at the grocery store would be interesting indeed! smiling smiley

If all these places keep adding stuff like wine and massages, how many people are going to forget to buy their groceriessmiling smiley
