NJ Gas Station Audit?

Forgive me for the stupid question in advance. I saw a gas audit and I live in NJ. I understand how they work in pump your own states, but has anyone done these in Jersey? People typically don't get out of their cars here unless it is a "super" station where you can go in and get lunch.

It depends on the station. Since we don't pump our own gas, there are a few different rules to the ones I do. What station are you referring to?

Sunoco, you don't need a pump photo, but I always take one anyway. You'll need an alternate photo. You pull over, park and check the restroom. You check the office or service bay by taking a quick walk by.

If it's an audit, like Exxon/Mobil, you have to get out of your car anyway to reveal yourself, and/or to check the restroom and do the audit. If there's a store, you park and buy something before the reveal.

Shell, you don't do the timing part, but need to evaluate both the gas attendant and the store cashier, if there is a store.

Hope that helps. Some are much easier to do than others.

Every gas client has its own specs for how to handle "full-serve only" locations. All shops in New Jersey would fit that category. Each client will also have their own specs for convenience store locations and kiosk-only or service center only locations. MsJudi has correctly identified several brands' specifics, but there are many more brands that are shopped. Check your instructions.
Thank you for the info. It would be exxon/mobil. I haven'g signed up for it yet, your information was very helpful.
In my area there are both full-serve and self-serve. I much prefer the self-serve as, at first, I felt a little silly having an attendent pump a little more than a gallon of gas and handing him a credit card. I've pretty much gotten over that, realizing that after a few minutes he will know my real purpose of being at his station.
Keep in mind when determining what the shop is worth to you, that for those full-serve locations where you don't get gas, you're losing real value in the shop.
