Not receiving Sassie emails

Has anyone else had problems receiving Sassie emails? If so, please share how you resolved the issue.

I have had no problems until this week. Now I don't receive shop acceptance emails, shop review rating email, etc. It is only happening with Sassie companies. All other MS company emails are fine.

After checking all company websites tonight, I have now found shops assigned by four different Sassie companies that I didn't receive acceptance emails about. Luckily they are not past due so I can get them done without consequence.

This is affecting my income and my reputation. One scheduler has now given me a citation as a flake for not completing a shop I didn't know about after I have performed several jobs for the company. Another company handled the situation better even though it was my first assignment with them......definitely not a good way to start a working relationship. But I lost the income because the shops could only be performed on certain dates.

One scheduler contacted Sassie for me and they are passing the blame to my ISP (att.net). My ISP has no answer and has been useless so far in finding one. I changed no settings on my computer that would have caused this.

Until this is resolved, obviously I will need to keep a list of shops applied for and log into the website to follow up with them. That takes a lot of extra time and energy I don't have.

Can anyone give me useful guidance to resolve this?

Hmmm. Whenever I apply for a shop, I enter it in my spreadsheet just like a regular shop, except with a different font color ~ I always use orange for shops applied for but not confirmed as mine yet ~ and leave out the pay so that it doesn't affect my total until I know for sure the shop is mine. That part is quick & easy.

The annoying part would be checking all over to see if you were accepted.

You've checked your spam folder, right? Some ISP's have a way to add specific emails to your "white list" of emails that always get through. I'm really not sure as I've never had to figure this problem out ~ yet ~ {knock on wood!}

Strange as it sounds, check your trash too. Yahoo was putting emails in my trash, even ones on my contact list.
I am even having trouble pulling up the websites. I hadn't done work for any of them in a while because of other work, but had noticed lately that I don't get emails. I have a laptop two years old and my first smartphone less than one year old. Somewhere in that time period, this began to happen. Hmmm.
Are you using Yahoo mail, AOL mail, Gmail, or some other type of mail. I have Gmail and have never had a problem with emails not getting through. In the past some of the MSPs have requested that we not use AOL or Yahoo mail because they send back too many emails as undeliverable. Some companies have generically been selected as 'spammers' by the mail providers. Others, any time an email goes to more than X number of recipients deem it to be spam and chuck it.
About 3 weeks ago, I started getting notices from Sassie that my notifications had been turned off. There were some instructions to the effect of, 'To resume notifications, click here.' and another that said 'if you are getting repeatedly turned off, go to some website and mark your email address as permanently safe'.. There were a few other instructions, I followed them, and it seems to have worked.

JOR, go to the free jobslinger option and register if you are not register and then log in and turn on all the email notifications for all the sassie companies.

Beyond Hello asked me to confirm that I was getting their emails because they're on SASSIE and I'm on yahoo. You may want to sign up for a new email.
Thanks for the responses. I check my spam folder daily. I am registered with JobSlinger and their email manager indicates my email is protected, which is supposed to prevent SASSIE shop emails from being spamblocked by your ISP. If I signed up for a new email address, I would have to change almost 100 companies and Paypal so that would be an absolute last resort.

I just don't understand why the problem developed this week with no previous issues and no changes to any of my settings. And strangely, I am getting some job announcement emails from Sassie shops so it is not completely blocked.
I just tried changing my email address with one Sassie company and the email verification notices were delivered without problems. Then I went in and changed it back to the original email address. Despite the website stating an email verification of the change had been sent, it was not received.

So now it appears to just be a problem with my one email account and not Sassie or my ISP (which is the same for all my emails). But I am still at a loss as to how to fix it without changing my email on all accounts.

Anyone have any more ideas?

I just spent part of the afternoon going through the Sassie sites and doublechecking everything. Maybe I will get emails now.
I got an email saying they were stopping my notifications because Gmail was sending them back as spam. I put them on the "white list" in my email and went back into sassie and made sure my notifications were on...

O.o o.O

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!
Hi! I'm having the same problem. What do you mean by putting them on the "white list"? I don't even see the emails in my spam folders! The funny thing is that I'm receiving the emails when shops become available, just not getting the ones when I actually get assigned a shop.

I just talked to the scheduler at one of the companies that I work for, and she says that it is a known problem, where the ISP's are rejecting the confirmation emails. She said that both Sassie and her company are actively working with the ISPs to resolve the problem, and should have a resolution in about 3 weeks. She was the only scheduler, of the many that I contacted, that knew about the problem. Everyone else just told me to look in my spam folder. When I told them that the emails weren't in my spam folder, I just got stunned silence.
Thanks, beansdogtaylor, for an update on your efforts. I hope Sassie has some success soon. In the meantime, it is extremely frustrating.

I still haven't received a common courtesy reply from the scheduler who gave me a flake citation. She totally ignored my email which says that maybe I don't want to work for a company that can't even show me a little respect by at least replying to my email. I realize they deal with a lot of real flakes and have heard lots of excuses for shops not being completed, but I am very upset about being labeled a flake when it just isn't true.
Many of the free mail services (Yahoo, Gmail, etc) recently changed their "DMARC" policies to make it more difficult for their users to receive emails from any bulk email service.

Basically, the issue is the way emails come from Sassie companies. Our emails look like they come from our website, but the emails are actually being delivered by a Sassie email server. This is called "Spoofing," and is common practice for legitimate companies that send out bulk emails, but unfortunately it is also common for spammers.

What Yahoo and others have done, is become more strict on their filtering. They check where the email says it's from (MysteryShoppingCompanyXYZ.com), and then they check where it REALLY came from (SassieEmailServer.com). When these don't match, they reject the email, or automatically mark it as spam.

Fortunately, there were a few steps that Sassie urged all MSC's to take in our web server configurations that will hopefully keep this issue at bay, but it is always possible that these email providers may come up with a different way to block our emails. One of the best things you can do to be sure you're receiving all emails from the MSCs is to add them to your "Safe Sender" list.

Let me know if you have any questions about this, I can try to answer!

Steven, Thanks for this information. I have looked EVERYWHERE in my mail options and can not find a "safe sender list." All I can find is a place to list emails I wish to block. I guess I need to call my ISP again.
Hi JoR,

No problem! What email provider do you use? Is it an ISP provided email, or one of the free mail sites? Your ISP is just as capable of blocking spoofing, but it may be more difficult to have a "safe sender" list, depending on their platform.

So, here it is FIVE weeks later and I'm still having this problem. Nothing was going wrong for me when this thread was started, but at the predicted 3 week for a resolution mark, I stopped receiving Sassie e-mails!
Anyone have updates on a solution? Do you have to have a Jobslinger Plus account to fix the problem?
Everyone wants to blame the problem on spam blockers, but Jobslinger stands to make some bucks
on this, don't they?

This happened to me a year ago. I had to update my profile with Jobslinger to stop the problem with regard to job notification.

Do you have web access to your email account as well as getting emails on your computer? If so, check your account online. I had some emails go to my junk box there but not come through to my computer at all. I found out about it because an editor called me because they needed clarification on something and I had not responded to the email they sent (panic).

As for the safe sender list, right click on a Sassie email and go to the "Junk" option. There should be an option to "Never block this domain name" and a couple others. Add the Sassie emails to the safe senders list that way.
