GOLD DVD

I know there have been discussions on the old DVD before. However, I just had a few questions. I understand the DVD is about six hours. Do you have do the entire test in one sitting? Can you do it in a few days? Is the test difficult to pass and how many attemps can you make with the one dvd?

When I did my training, I think I just watched one of the DVDs one day and the second DVD the second day. So it was basically a weekend event for me. After watching the second, I took the test. The test wasn't extremely long or anything and I think it had a couple of narratives in addition to a bunch of multiple choice. I don't remember how many attempts I was allowed but I passed it in the first attempt. I also don't remember if I had to do it all in one sitting but I believe it had a "save your work" option so that you could leave it for interruptions.

I didn't find the test difficult to pass, but I had already done a few shops and knew a lot of the "rules." Also, because you have the DVD right at your fingertips, if you are stumped you can always rewatch whatever secton covered the topic. Also I took a lot of notes while I was watching the DVD. I figured if I had been at the actual recording and in the audience I would have taken notes so that's what I did.

Maybe someone who has taken the test more recently could give you better information. I did this course in spring of '08 so I'm a bit foggy.
Dvd's whenever and whenever. You could watch them 15 minutes a day if you want. You check need the check point answers and then once you start the test you NEED to finish it.
