How about a relaxing 7 night hotel stay..

There is a 7 night hotel stay, that the client will pay for (room and taxes). You can stay 2-7 nights. (minimum two nights) you don't have to stay 7 nights. It is a video shop (for the time share presentation)... The shop fee is $40.

Would you do it?

I'm thinking: Yeah, 7 nights at a hotel but no mention of food being paid for. ...And the fee seems low for a video shop..

The fee is low, the reimbursement is great. If you are on a route or can get other video shops within a reasonable radius, your only expense is food and gas.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Not unless I really wanted to stay at that particular place for another reason.

If it helps to compare, I did a "resort" shop (really a converted apartment complex) for a weekend. The place was nothing special and there was no video. I just had to evaluate check in, room, all facilities such as laundry, tiny game room, pool and small gift shop area attached to lobby. I was reimbursed for all charges and paid a $120 fee.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
I think their theory is, that you are only videotaping for the time-share portion and that is where you earn your money. But how about all the other time at the resort hotel?

Are you required to make observations? Or do you relax for 7 days, get paid to stay there and just have to attend the time-share presentation?

The outlay of the assignment does not explain if you get parking, meals, resort internet fee. ect.

Oh: The client provides the recorder...

I suppose this might work for someone who was looking for a 7 night hotel relaxation time... that did not pay much but the hotel was covered.
My understanding with other time share shops is the focus is the presentation and the rest are perks. For any route shopper one of the biggest expenses is hotel. If you are out for more than one week it is not uncommon for at least Sunday and sometimes even all or most of Saturday to be days you cannot conduct video shops while still incurring all the expenses. If the timing is right it could work out to be a couple of days off without worrying about anything beyond food costs.

I just got an email about various locations including HI for a 7 day stay where they provide you with the camera and pay is higher. I guess airfare would be on me. I would be tempted to do one of these but it kind of scares me. How many of you have done these and what do you think. I've never done a video shop but I have recorded shops via audio.
If you have never done a video shop, I would hesitate. When I make presentations for prospective video shoppers I always stress that they should always do at least 5 of the same type of shop without vodeo before trying it with video. In addition, some training is required before you will be proficient with the video equipment.

This one might best be left to a seasoned video shopper.

Take me with you. I'll make you forget about the fee. winking smiley
I would love to do a 7 night stay at a hotel with only one shop on the first day if the location was right for me. Seven nights of vacation free! one report! I will even pay for my own food. I have done one night stays for one report so 7 nights for one report...sign me up.
If it was a place I was going and it was just a video of a presentation that was no more than 2 hours and I didn't have to do a report of any kind, I would consider doing the shop.
