Report won't accept $0.00 dollars

You all have been such a great source of answers to "what do I do when?"

I did credit card audit shops today and am trying to enter them. I did them in Delaware with no sales tax. One of the questions asks how much I paid in sales tax. I entered $0.00, however the application does not recognize zero as an acceptable answer, says I have an "OOPS" and won't let me submit.

I emailed the scheduler several hours ago and haven't heard back. I need to get these reports done this afternoon, so I was thinking of putting this note in the comments field:

"Please note that Delaware has no sales tax, so I was charged $0.00 in sales tax. The application will not accept 0.00 as a valid answer so I entered 0.0001."

I am not sure if that is appropriate or if those fields are only for comments related to the shop (not the web submission form). I tried it out and they will accept .0001 (anything over 0)

What do you think?

Thanks in advance

I think that you have done the only thing that you could have done at the time since your scheduler did not get in touch with you.

Motivation increases when we assume large responsibilities with a short deadline.
I had to force-enter an answer recently in a similar situation. I sent the scheduler an explanation of what I had answered and what the correct response was. It's all you can do, really. You can't let the report remain unsubmitted or you may pass a deadline and lose the shop before you can get through to them.

Market Force has an "I'm stuck" option where you can call their attention to the fact that you're trying to enter a report but have a problem. But I think they're the only one who has that built into the reporting system.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
That's exactly what I would do.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
enter in the tax as 0.01. They are aware of the situation
and the editor will take care of it.

Maritz has an "I'm Stuck" option, which sends the report straight to the editor. I found this out the hard way, when I was frustrated and seeking advice; I did not expect the report to immediately jettison to a place where, my friends, the schedulers couldn't even retrieve it.

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
As others said, put in 0.01, submit the report, and just let the scheduler know. I had this happen last week (I am in NH with no sales tax).

If I'm under the gun to submit a report and there is something wonky that needs to be explained I will include it in a narrative like this:

*note to editor*
In Delaware there is no sales tax but the form won't let me submit the report with $0.00 in the sales tax field for question #54. I've submitted the report with $0.01 in the sales tax field but the amount should actually be $0.00.

I also email my scheduler but this way I figure I've covered all the bases.
I just did a shop recently where the issues were so bad I took pictures. I included the following, or something to this effect, in my comments:

[***EDITOR PLEASE NOTE: because of the safety issues described above, I took several photos. Please contact me via email or phone if the client would like these.***]

I got an email the next day asking me for the photos as an attachment and they went straight to the client. When in doubt, remember someone IS reading the report!!!
