Video Equipment/Certification

Howdy!

I'm silver certified and I've shopped for close to 10 years. I'd like to obtain video equipment (body worn or purse) to take it to the next level. I purchased a video ID card a while back but never felt confident using it. I'm thinking about the button hole thingy. I'm figuring the purse one wouldn't be a very stable picture. Please give me your thoughts on equipment, what type do you have success with. Thanks!

Button cam is the most common and IMO easiest to use. I can see some applications where the eyeglass cam could work, just not enough to suggest anyone start with them. Most of us use some version of the PV-500. A complete rig will include the button cam and covers along with anything eel you might need to get started. Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Many sales agents are looking for the purse camera, so it's not a good idea.

The PV-500 button cam is the way to go, but you must have the camera with resolution that is up to the standards of the MSCs that do video.

Also, before you sink $600+ into equipment, please find out if this really is for you by doing 5-10 video shops with equipment loaned by one of the MSCs. EPMS and The Training Factor will loan equipment.

Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Ditto to the above comments.

And one other thing. As you probably know, men tend to be stubborn. Therefore, I dove right in to doing senior living video shops even though I had never done that type of shop before. The "School of Hard Knocks" is an unforgiving teacher. Take the advice of Wales and others on this forum...before you do a video shop, do a conventional shop of the same type.

Have PV-500 & willing to travel.
