full-time living doing MS / Discriminate aganist older shoppers / corporate Research Inc.

Hello: First of all I have been truly busy doing my shops, sorry and to talk about making it full time yes you can. It can be done by getting with the right companies,signing with as many companies you can.I work with four great company dealing with convenience stores/ merchandising/ phone calls.
Yes they do discrimate with age at a lot of these companies with being a certain age, I know because I applied for several and that is what they asked you , your age/ size.
The company sucks that want you to do all this testing with you have to take at least three time before you can pass it for such little pay and they want you to jump through for them!
I enjoy my Mystery Shopping assignments and get great pay from $10-$16.00 depending on what I be doing.I get plenty of timein because I do both MS and Demonstration which is Friday-Sunday( 4-6 hours) weekly you just have to get out there and look.

jcwizzie: I do many shops for great companies and have learned to pass on the few sob's. We all know who they are. They are the ones with the tests, the non payment on faint receipts, the non communications. I do not have to name names. On the other hand, there are very good and ethical companies that you can work with who, if a problem reises such as age, will talk to you about the issue like you are a real live human being who should be treated with respect. Look for those babies, they are out there.

Going the other direction it bothers me that one will not accept a GED as a high graduate for the low end shops. Just one company that I know of and the form does say it, you get a rejection letter after you submit saying sorry.

Really? It's kind of shortsighted, as it is supposed to have equivalency. One of the best students I ever had in my college classes had a GED. She was a 16 year old girl who had gone to private school, but had a chronic illness requiring bed rest for 2-3 weeks at a time when an "episode" would flare. The school apparently dealt poorly with this, so she dropped out, got her GED, took a couple years of college classes instead, and now is a film major at USC.

What would this company do with someone who did not graduate from high school but has a masters degree and a PHD?

Heh. I actually have a Batchlers degree and a GED. I was at a private school in HS, myself, and they were going to make graduating drag out like a year and a half, which would have wasted a lot of time/money, so I just got a GED and started college the following fall. I've made a few mistakes in my life, but I've never considered that to be one of them. ;>
