? about jobslinger

I am looking at Jobslinger and I see listings that are days, even weeks old that still have stars by them. Does that mean these shops are still available? Why would certain jobs just sit there like that if they are still open?

Because they haven't been done yet? IF you click through, it will take you to the real job board so you can see the shop that is actually available.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
jobs sit for many reasons some common ones are:
No shoppers in the area
Pay to low
Job has ridiculous guidelines
all shoppers too busy with other shops (lol)

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I have seen shops on job slinger plus that have the stars, but are not available. Even though the star is supposed to indicate availability, I think a lot of schedules forget to update, or don't care to update once the shop is handled.

Because Jobslinger is not updated as often as the source MSP job board is. But I think you are missing the true value of Jobslinger. That being the ability to connect you to companies that have jobs in your area. When you find them, sign up. Then you often have to wait for them to shops to cycle around again.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
Yes, Vlade. I agree, that is the true value of Jobslinger. Even though I'm signed up with almost all the companies I see on there, it is still a nice little "one-stop" source to get a jump start.

I was annoyed today when I found several shops in my rural area - quite rare - all with stars on them. I excitedly went to the source and of course they were not available any more. Grrrrrrrr!

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
And this is why I stopped dealing with Jobslinger. If you are really patient, you can try to remember which shops ended up not being available but to me, it's not worth the hassle.
