Favorite convenience store items

Just curious-
What do you guys buy for $1 or $2 in these C-Store/Gas shops?
Is there something there that I'm overlooking that is worth stocking up on if you have to do a bunch of these at once? One can only buy so many Tic Tac's, ya know?

I buy windshield wash. I don't care if I go over the reimbursement a bit.

Often, I'll buy a coffee for under $2 (1.50) or get a chocolate milk for $1.59
I get a Diet Dr. Pepper in a bottle 1.89 or candy for the movies or late night snacks or a bag of chips. Basically junk food but the only time I get candy is on gas station shops and it lasts a long time. Big box of good and plenty 1.69 - cheaper than at the movies.
I like to buy a small bag of almonds. They make a good, healthy snack while driving. But, sometimes I buy sugar free gum or a can of diet soda.

"All we want are the facts." Sgt. Joe Friday
If a small milk is available I buy it to add to the gallon at home. Otherwise, I buy a bottle of water.
Bags of nuts, usually.

If I'm craving a candy or see something new, I'd squeeze that in. One recent example is when I saw a Samoa flavored Crunch Bar (Yes, Girl Scout Cookie!!).

If the guidelines allow, I buy a no-calorie lottery ticket.

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
On routes it can get old buying the same things. I started shopping around for non-food, travel size items. Tissues, Tylenol, even pens can usually be purchased.

Frito Lay services their racks regularly in the area I shop and their products are dependably fresh. The majority of their products are pre-priced which is great because some of those convenience stores will smile and rip you off. I buy peanuts, pecans, cashews, sunflower seeds, chips, and Grandma's cookies off the Frito Lay rack. I also buy candy year round but chocolate only in cooler weather. Gum and tic tacs and cat food in the small cans are other choices. I buy lots of pints of milk to use as coffee creamer. I buy soda fountain refills in my own mug if the food service area is immaculate. Much of what is on the shelf (except Frito Lay) in the itty bitty mom and pop's can be out of date so be careful. In non-drink and non-food, I've bought a lot of legal pads and steno pads. With the exception of the drink refills and the milk pints, most of what I get at the convenience stores is gifted.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
Since Hostess came back, I usually buy a package of Snowballs. Before that happened, I'd get bottled water. Easy to store, and it's a good idea to keep some in the car anyway.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews, snickers (all over $1.00) Arizona iced tea ($.99), car air fresheners (if I am carrying gas cans). I have also bought windshield washer fluid but that varies from $2.99 to $5.99 and I can get it for $2.50 elsewhere.
$0.99 16 oz. bottled soda
$0.89 32 oz. fountain soda
2/$1 Peanuts
$0.99 Pop-Tarts
$0.99 Granola Bar
3x$0.35 Wrigley's gum
I buy stick of cheese anywhere from 79 to 99 cents
Arizona can drink 99 cents
The 99 cents grandma cookies
Little Debbies snacks 50 cents to $1
Penny candy know 25 cents so I buy 4 and get my dollars worth
peanuts work
brisk fruit drink 99 cents to 1.19
Newspaper at one store that had nothing but oil.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Sunflower seeds, Beef Jerky, Slim Jims, Diet Soda. I have recently converted to a Low Carb lifestyle and there ain't nuttin' else you can buy in a convenience store but those 4 items and water, unless you go for the overpriced nuts.

Do they ever allow lottery tickets? I've never seen that.

Yes. I do a convenience store shop and it is a requirement to buy a lotto ticket (not a scratch ticket).

I quickly got over that. The second you ask is the same second they realize they're being shopped and I don't particularly care. It's amazing how many times I've put down that my greeting was crap but my farewell was AMAZING! lol

I don't think it's far-fetched to ask for a receipt if you charge it on your card. I'm sure the next thing you're thinking is, "Who charges something for something <$1?"

Well, I do. I prefer card over cash. I can sanitize my credit cards, but I can't sanitize cash and it'd be a headache to sanitize loose change as well.

Arizona Sweet Tea, as several others have mentioned.

I know of one MSC that has shops for lottery tickets. I think it has something to do with verifying the machine as you have to enter some of the machine-specific data into the report. IIRC, it's the state lottery, not the Powerball or Mega-Millions.

If there is a $1 reimbursement i usually go for 1.25 or 2 Liter sodas when they are $.99. Marathons (which I do a ton of) have no reimbursement. When I first did them I learned hardly any C-Stores have $.05 candy any more but nearly all sell those 5 stick packs of gun for $.35 (they used to be a quarter). Well I ended up with about 30 packs of that stuff which came in handy when I was home for Halloween last week. I had completely forgotten to get candy and was trying to enter reports when the door knocking started and my dog became bi-polar with all of these strangers in costume coming to the door.

That mystery shop candy came in handy last week!

Well, never, never, never buy those things rolling on a heated roller thing. They shall certainly be old and make one ill.

Typically, I purchase the Nature Valley granola bars. The peanut butter types are excellent. The oats and honey ones are very good ground up and added to my sinful banana nut bread.

Lastly, i always look for the specials (sales items). Once, I even purchased an excellent beer (hubby said it was as good as PBR - heh).

I usually buy little candies or gums to throw in my nieces' stash, then when it hits the right weight.. off to the post office it goes, as long as I have a post office shop. My brother tells me it's the best part of their month to open their package and see what random stuff they get this month.
