SMASHBURGER The report is now shorter!!!!

Looks like somebody from <a particular MSC> actually read the recent comments about the excessive Smashburger shops and now the shops have been shortened!!!

"The Wheel that Squeaks get the Oil" definitely applies here and anybody who posted on this topic should thank themselves...

Have not done one myself yet, how are their veggie burgers please???
Do you actually get a patty as a burger in contrast to Five Guys which only gives you the toppings???

Mod note: Tsk, tsk is right! You've been around here long enough to know better. smiling smiley

Yeah, I vowed that I would never do Smashburger again but I kept getting emails from them about the shorter reports so I decided to try again told and they were a little shorter. It still took me 15 minutes or so, but it was better than the 25 minutes I used to put into it! I'll probably start doing them again every once in a while.
The MSC did a great job condensing the report. I feel like they really focused this round of reports on objectivity, reduced the repetitivity, and eliminated a lot of the opinions the previous reports used to ask for.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
Yes; still $4.

hahahahaha not doing them until the fee hits $10 or more.
Thank you for calling attention to this. I will reconsider doing these shops. In the past I felt they were too much of a PITA to do. However, I find this atmosphere much more relaxing than the 5 Guys. I think the food is pretty similar. Wait, I think my Smashburger has beer! Hooray. Is beer allowed?
Thanks for the info. Only did one, not enough money for the work. I still probably won't do one without a bonus, and I don't think they are bonused very often.

I love Smashburger and I found out in a roundabout way via google who mystery shops them - as long as there is a reimbursement for food I'd do it for the $4 fee - only because I like their food so much.....Thinking about signing up with the MSC involved but have not done so yet.
Attention Moderator: So true, I screwed up rather badly entering both the msc and client names together !!!!!

Never Again !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The report is still WAY too long for a $4 fee plus reimbursement! I haven't tried their take-out shops yet, but maybe that report justifies the small fee.

There are so many other shops that pay better for less work. I feel the same way about Jersey Mike's, even though I'll still pick one up occasionally. The disparity between shop fees, reimbursements, and shop report requirements is mind boggling.

I'll take $18 to buy a smoothie at Target or the $10/$10 for a huge frozen yogurt at TCBY any day. Even the DQ drive thru (burger + ice cream) pays better than a lot of other shops. I'm not comparing food quality, just money and effort required.

I love that Smoothie Target shop you mentioned! The Smoothie itself is way to sugary for me, it's almost like eating straight sugar, but the fee after what the Smoothie costs very much works for me, yes indeed. Just wish I could get this shop more often!
Hi all! This is my first post and I hate to start out whiney but this has bothered me since it happened a few months ago.

I have performed the old Smashburger shops. I did so because I loved the food there. It was on my third shop that communication ceased to exist and I will never shop for them again.

I was assigned a Dine-In shop. I kept the reminder email from the day before the shop as I do with all my shops, so I know it was a Dine-In shop. It was due on June 30th. I did the shop and turned in my report on time. A few days later, I received an email telling me the MSC was going to dock my fee by $2 because I did a Dine-In shop instead of a Carry-Out shop. Considering they only pay a $4 fee, this was a slap in the face and so I forwarded the confirmation email I had received back to the scheduler. She wrote back and said she had sent me a note on the day of my shop telling me it had been changed to a Carry-Out shop. I wrote back and told her I never received that email. She then forwarded an email that was dated July 1st saying my shop was now a Carry Out shop. I wrote back to her and told her that she must be confused because my shop was due on June 30th. I performed my shop on June 30th and I turned in my report on June 30th. She never responded back and I received a check that was $2 short.

Now I see her emails begging for shoppers all the time. I wonder if she has done this to others as well and no one wants to work with her.

Now I just pay for my Smashburgers with the fees on make on my Five Guys shops. smiling smiley
I think Smashburger and 5 Guys are pretty similar I usually only do a 5 guys for 11-14 dollars, I have received "Exclusive" emails good for 12-24 hours where they offer me a 3.00 bonus. I always pass on them.I feel 10-15.00 is a fair price to pay for a complete evaluation. I have decided that I am going to be bit choosier with my time. I don't do reports anywhere near as fast as most people on the board it seems so I need to pick ones that want detail and pay more for it.

I won't do a food only reimbursement unless it is one where you tell them they did a great job and hand them a certificate. Survey taked me 10 minutes.

For fast food like 5 guys 10+ food

Car Dealerships 40.00+

Bar Compliance 30.00 + food ( I will do these all night long)

I will do a new housing shop too, but that is about my limit, if not I am working for less than minimum wage with driving and report time added in. For me a short 5 guys report is at least 30 minutes and a bar shop is an hour.
