Increase in cancelled shops?

I don't know if i am in a string of bad luck or if something is going on with EOY and budgets...I have had several shops be cancelled with best mark because the client chose to. Some I got notification of and others I didn't.

Then i got my cable provider shop cancelled after i had performed it but before i had submitted it because the client essentially ran out of budget (if i am understanding correctly). Fortunately it was just a call...

I am not sure if anyone else has been seeing it as well? I have gone most of the year without this happening and then there have just been a bit of showers that happened over the last few weeks.

Is this a new trend?

I had a couple of Bestmark phone shops cancelled recently. I also had <another> shop cancelled, I don't know why. At least they notified me in plenty of time to change my schedule.

Mod note: Hey there Bellusion... please remember not to link client and MSC! Thank you! smiling smiley
They are the first shops I've had cancelled. If it's abnormal, I don't know. Before 2014, I was averaging 2 shops a month so no idea.
I had a string of phone shops canceled by them as well. I recall this happening in the past once or twice before. It isn't personal, just requested by their client.
On the phone shops, once they get a specified number of completed shops, they simply tell the MSC to stop accepting new job requests and to cancel any currently uncompleted shops. They are just looking for a specified sampling size and once they get reach it, they don't need to waste any additional money.

One buzzard to another while circling high overhead (paraphrased), "Patience hell! I want to shop somewhere."
I've only had one shop canceled by the client. It was M.F. and I was shocked. I've never had that happen before.

Oh well. That's business. smiling smiley
