Hotel Shops

I am trying to find more shops for hotels, does have the names of some of the companies that shop hotels in the DFW area. I have signed up with a couple, but have never received a reply back. It seems to be difficult to get signed up with some of these companies. Any advice?

I don't know about your specific area but Anonymous Insights, Freeman, Coyle Hospitality, Regal Hospitality and I think Inside Hospitality.

Because hotel shops generally require extensive narrative, it is critical that you exercise great care with the writing sample they usually want. Write it in Word, use the spell checker, use the grammar checker, read it aloud to see how it 'flows', make sure it is a logical progression of the described experience, make sure it is objective (no 'I think' or 'I believe' type statements) etc. Only when it is perfect should you copy and paste it into the application. You generally only get one try at an application and then you are either accepted, rejected or put on hold pending work in your area. You will only know if/when you are accepted.
Where is the "DFW" area? (I don't know all the city abbreviations!)

I know that Buckalew Hospitality seems to always be looking for people willing to go to Washington D.C.

Add A Closer Look to hotel shopping! I've done several shops for them in Michigan. They do hotel shops nationwide. They typically have shop release dates about the third or fourth week of the month.
SQM-Sensors Quality Management currently has a listing in Austin.
Not sure if they shop DFW...

The best of luck with Coyle, very fussy, writing must be above standards, would start with "A Closer Look". SQM you need to pass their level 9 test, it's a bear. Did a nice Hotel for Mystery Guest, but haven't seen many this year. Keep us posted if you find one.

FYI you don't necessarily need to pass the higher level tests with SQM, I've been shopping on and off for them for about 2 years and have done numerous hotel shops. Of course I did less challenging shops first, but I'm not a level 9.

Shopgirl, you do need to be about a level 7, don't you....they only have hotel shops out here, and put me on that half off program, which helps. I am burnt out, and don't want to retry the levels...think I'm up to 5.

Irene_LA, not in my case and I can only assume it's because they liked my other shops? I'm not sure why, but grateful it happened. I know what you mean about the burn out! Those levels sure are challenging.I'm not at level 7 either.
Hotel shops with SQM are either fully reimbursed or 50% off in the areas I check (Vancouver and Edmonton).

Shopgirl, They have shops monthly in San Francisco where I was born....I can get the 50% off, but you do need a level 7 before doing one that is completely reimbursed. They have nothing but Hotels in CA. I've given up.

Here is a company in Toronto, Ontario that evaluates five star international hotels.

The last time I spoke with Mr. Sharma, he hoped to begin the same (five star hotels) in the states. I have not shopped for this company. My husband and I want to be retired to do international travel.
Thank you, I am finding out how to register,,,I hope they have Hotels in California. Thanks again!!
