AZ Shoppers - this location is CLOSED - Intellishop

I have no idea why Intellishop is having this on it's boards other than that you have to go to a location similar to the one listed. Let me clarify. The Scottsdale location has yet to be built. It will not be built until next year and maybe not even then. You have to make a call to the non-existent location and get the corporate office. The corporate office has to say on the recorded line that the location has yet to be built (or no pay). You also have to make an appointment, which they want to be recorded with the phone system but it can not be done since the local # is not tied into the phone system they have. It can be any senior center with that name in the valley however the call needs to be recorded on the phone system - or you may not get paid. (do you have your running shoes on yet?!) You then have to go through the senior center and ask, ask, ask, ask about the pricing and money. It has to be asked and discussed constantly - or no pay (are those running shoes laced yet?!) Also the entire presentation (on site) has to be recorded. There is about 10 things that have to be discussed - several times - through out the presentation, constantly - or no pay. All of this for $65! mind you they have their 'old-school' editors in charge of the program so expect it to be nitpicked to the point of exasperation.

Sound like fun hunh?

Leave it alone. I'm trying to get this shop for this weekend. smiling smiley

hey more power to you. I grabbed it when it first came through and got a splitting migraine trying to get them to pay me. It got rejected because I didn't get the phone call 'properly' recorded. It got sliced when the associate made mention of price first. You best mention it first - dang you! Oh there were so many fiery hoops that I just told them to keep the shop since the locations were on my way to other better paying shops. It is just another oxymoron for this msc...

oh and the best was I got it in writing that they WOULD pay me since there was so many hiccups along the way with the phone call. Oh how innocent I was! I forgot it was oxymoronshop!

I've done two of these shops before. It helps if you actually have a relative with dementia, the shop flow is very natural for me.

Are you in Phoenix for the winter or just passing through? Cold front coming in tomorrow. Stay warm.

Actually what is on the board right now is one phone call with no tour and another job with a phone call and tour -- but the facility is definitely open for the tour one.

I have a picture of the Scottsdale location - okay empty lot with a banner. I went to the Mesa location to fulfill the site presentation and heard the director bad mouth (and it is on tape mind you) the patients. (we all know how oxymoronshop loves shops that have bad customer service) It was a horrible shop but I got lunch there so hey. I was on my way to Globe to make $250 for the day and then spend the weekend at the lake so the shop was a mute point - just something to boost my month so I can get the car fixed.

I am in AZ for the winter. I am anywhere there is money to be earned since I had such a bad year this year and I still need to do repairs, restock, and get my feet back under me. We may have to meet when I get the car fixed - if you want. Maybe we can get the AZ shoppers together at BWW or some fun place. Hey I know - Skate USA has a shop for $90 - lmao!

How is your month going?

I'm not shopping much right now-- working part time now and had to work over 30 hours a week the last three weeks due to other people's vacations. Now I'm behind on everything here at home so I'm trying to get caught up and ready for winter. finally got the wood box filled, all the corrals cleaned, most of the outdoor stuff. tomorrow I'm off again and will tackle the house stuff. And I have four tax returns on my desk I need to get finished up. But I need to go see my dad in Glendale so I'll try to pick up a shop or two which is why I'm looking at this one in Scottsdale. i also applied for a couple of other shops in Phoenix for Summit but haven't heard back.

I'll let Marty know she has competition though. She works Globe, Show low, Prescott, Flag and everything in between plus the east valley. she doesn't do much on the west side. (She's not on the forum) So I'll let her know you're working Globe.

If you want to clean up where there's little competition, look at Safford and Tucson. Neither of us usually touch Cave Creek. Anthem has Outlet store shops and some banks. Buckeye and Avondale usually don't get much action. You could probably get bonus money for any of those areas. There are new home shops in the far west and south parts of Phoenix.

I've noticed this too, that there seem to be many shops in Tucson which sit on the board and don't get taken. I wonder why this is with wages being so low in Tucson and so many students around needing cash? I've often wished I could get a hotel shop in Tucson and work some shops around it and have a kind of working vacation - preferably with a lower end hotel so that the shop would tie me down to the hotel property for the entire stay. Still trying to make it happen!
If you see it on the board again (still closed) ask for a hefty bonus. See if they get the message. smiling smiley

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
My shopping friend and I have talked about doing a run to Tucson, taking a hotel, hitting the casino shops, and cleaning up anything else we can. But we haven't been able to hook up over it. And not likely to happen now that I have this part time job that cramps my schedule. I think Tucson is well over 200 miles from here if I remember right so it would be quite a commitment of time and mileage. I'd probably have to have a couple of $50+ shops apiece to even think about it.

Well, that site in Scottsdale is definitely not open -- the one I inquired about was the same one gypsy photographed; I thought there might have been more than one shop, they do a lot of senior shops. Why in the world would they put the job back on the board after seeing a picture proving the site wasn't built yet?

They have a very misleading website. They make it sound like they have been open for a long time and they have fake photos of people enjoying the facility. Not a hint of "coming soon" or "now accepting applications." Nope. A prominent "schedule a tour" link.

Empty lot with a banner? A bit of false advertising if you ask me. From bare lot to grand opening will be at least six months to a year under the best of circumstances, and our second rainy season will be along in a couple of months. Saying it's not yet open -- it's apparently not yet built.

Actually I wouldn't have minded doing the shop, even if I had to shop a different facility. But they're pulling it back for now until they find out what's going on. But you'd think if they wanted the other facilities shopped they would just list them instead.

I have a question about the video recording that these types of shops require?

Are they just of the facilities and not of any other residents? It would be a real big HIPAA violation were any other patients or patient names were recorded and released in the video.

So, I am wondering if its just of the residence and buildings etc and not any other people.

Thanks in advance

these shops are not video shops. These are voice record shops. It a royal pain to get the right format and such to do these shops.

dspeaks I agree with you when it comes to auditing the other locations. If they wanted them done, then why not have them done individually... oh when does this company pay? I keep seeing pending payment for about 2 weeks now. What does that even mean?
