Mobile app shops

So I'm looking for cell phone shops and a friend tells me that basically the same $15 cell phone big box audit on a sassie platform is now also doing a $5 mobile app shop that requires an interaction and a picture. We agreed that neither of us would do the $5 shop. I think these apps will cause a lot of problems with regular shops. I think they are just trying to get rock bottom $ for my work. Granted they are mostly select yes / no questions, but if they require me to have an interaction for $5, no way.

I've looked at most of the apps, and I think they can be harmful to our industry just because someone owns a smartphone does not make them qualified to be a shopper. And yes these new apps are undercutting people, because someone will do the job.

Five dollars for a interaction is not likely worth it to me. Depends on how long of an interaction I expect from the location I suppose.
Mobee has jobs that pay one dollar. I just looked at one and it says it'll take 10 to 15 minutes with 12 to 15 questions. Even if I'm in the store, I wouldn't consider doing one.

I saw the FA phone shops too. I didn't consider those either.
This is exactly why I won't download those apps.
Do you guys think that once the clients realize what low quality results they are getting it will lose its appeal, or do you think these apps are being used by client who want feedback regardless of quality?
Maybe the clients use the smartphone apps for a quick "snapshot" experience. They get almost instant feedback. Some of the apps offer better pay for 2-5 minutes of observation and a photo. I did 6 app shops yesterday plus 2 regular mystery shops. I was paid for the app shops ($3-$4 each) within 2 hours via PayPal.
I saw those cell phone shops in the app. I lol, rofl, lmao, repeated and closed the app.

I won't name the app, but I was eating at a Five Guys and I could see inside the completely empty AT&T store with three employees. They wanted 13 questions answered and two photo's of the brand display in the store. They wanted to see if the associate was pushing thier product over another brand.

All for $5. I completed the assignment by deleting the app before the timer reached zero. angry smiley

I'm not going to out myself as a shopper for $5. There is no way a veteran shopper could pull this off, much less someone who just downloaded the app and has no shopping experience.

I could be offered a bonus to go shop that location for AT&T by another MSC and get paid properly. Why would I ruin that location for $5.

Don't forget that the kids that work in the cell phone jobs bounce around and end up in different stores.

There is a franchise owner that has over 18 stores for one brand in my area and he makes his employees rotate stores so they don't get too comfortable in a routine and become friends with co-workers. I shopped a store one day and saw the same employee in a store the very next day 15 miles away.
