Joytron, I learned something when I was got $80 for a fast food shop (the ones that start at $7.50 and require you go through the drive thru and the walk in).
I traveled through a rural area and decided to pick up one of these ff shops. I was paid $20. Then, two months later, I got a call and was glad I took the call, because I was offered $80 to do the shop. I was told that the big bonus was only offered to a shopper if they had performed the shop at the same location before.
If you go to those rural areas and do the shops, you will get the big bonus offers I'll bet.
I would not suggest that suburban shoppers take the burger shops in locations that they are not familiar with in URBAN areas. If you do, cruse past the shop the day before. If your car looks too new and your clothes do not match what the people are wearing, you are the Mystery shopper. Do not even bother to stop.
You may go home and change clothes and borrow a car that matches but you will need to work on what you will say to the panhandler who asks for change and if you want to give the burger to the panhandler who asks for change it may be a challenge. The panhandler wants your change not the burger. How do you refuse the lady who offers you services to buy drugs, very carefully or she may cut you.
Unlike the suburban neighborhood burger shop you go to you will find everything is behind the counter napkins, condiments, soda is not self serve. You can ask for a refill. The restrooms can be used if you go to the counter and are buzzed in. The restrooms will be clean as the porter watches who goes in and out. In some locations Plexiglas will separate you from the employees.
The shop will offer a bonus if a suburban shopper decides they would rather be safe than sorry and flakes. It does not mean another suburban shopper should try to perform the shop. You will earn every dime of the bonus, combat pay. Do not do the urban shops after dark. The police do not patrol alone they have partners.
