Harmon..getting a name during phone call

Any suggestions for getting a name of an employee when you call a store before a shop.....you have to ask a HEY A MYSTERY SHOPPER IS COMING question.....and then if they didn't give their name (or you couldn't understand)...you have to ask their name.....now if they were only suspicious a mystery shopper was coming....they now know for sure.....I used to skip the months that required a call asking this question....

How would you ask their name without sounding suspicious in this case?

(I don't want to list the actual question here..but if you've done these shops...you know the type)

I don't know if this is a shop where you are having to place an order or not. If it is, what I do is ask for the name and then ask, "Should I ask for you when I come in?" That sorta makes an excuse for asking for the name.
no--its not placing an order..this is the HARMON/FACE VALUES stores....they don't take orders....its like a drug store

but even on shops where you place an order...what if they say you don't need to ask for them..that anyone at customer service can help them?
its really an odd question...that 99% of people would never call the store to ask....the answer is easily available online....and a better way to get the answer for this question....
Right after they've said hello I say "who am I speaking to?" and then once they say their name, say Mary, I say "Well Mary I was ......." I've had people ask me for my name right at the beginning of a conversation so I guess it's not an unusual thing to o.
