Tons of tobacco compliance mystery shops available... but no facial hair allowed? Why, exactly?

There are a ton of compliance shops available in my area, and I'd like to participate in them. But, the company offering them specifies that shoppers cannot have ANY facial hair for these shops. What is the deal with this? I'm 25 years old, but I look like 15 years old when I shave and it's downright embarrassing. I won't do it. They'd have to pay me $100 per shop for me to shave for these compliance shops. What's the big deal about me having some light, well-trimmed facial hair? If anything, it adds authenticity to the compliance aspect of the shop.

Who knows, the client / MSC may think having facial hair on the shopper would create bias in the shop. They can at least control this in their shopper selection.

On the bright side, at least they aren't requiring hairline requirements or restrictions of shoppers who are balding. This would be a factor that would be difficult / complicated to control.

Yeah, my son considered doing some of these jobs. He's 21 and could not bring himself to remove the facial hair for $10 per job. He looks young with the facial hair and doesn't want to look like a teenager without it. Maybe that's why these jobs seem to sit forever on the board without ever being picked up.

Checking IDs is based on appearance. Your facial hair makes you look older.

Exactly. Guys with facial hair look older, they don't want them to look older.

At least I'm not the only person with the looking young problem. Unfortunately; I can't grow a beard to overcome that to save the life of me. At least I get a $10 consolidation prize! Haha.

The temperature is going down to -20 below. If you do not have facial hair your teeth will freeze. I could wear a ski mask but then the trigger happy cashier may draw his gun and shoot me. Not worth $10!
