So does anyone video shop with the glasses. I know there a lot of people who use the button cam but how many use the glasses? Doesn't the twlo cables running from the end of the glasses give it away as a camera especially with Google glasses being out and people focusing on those?

I know a few people who have tried the glasses. I don't know anyone who would use them exclusively. The glasses have applications where they might be preferable, but those types of shops are not common right now. The idea is to keep a target on camera for long periods of time. Body mount cameras allow you to sit or stand facing the target while still being able to look around at an apartment or look down at paperwork. Shops where they would be better are usually shorter, have a target who is mostly stationary and/or have the focus on physical conditions of the business where you want to film outages on shelves, etc.

I have two pair of the HD camera glasses, and I use them a LOT. I think 150 shops on my "old" pair, and another 75 in my "new" ones.

DISADVANTAGES:
1. If you have short hair, then, yes, the wires are visible.
2. You've got to really control your head position; nodding "yes" or "no" creates video that makes the client seasick.

ADVANTAGES:
1. You can wear "normal" clothes (hooray!) - no need for a dowdy shopper shirt.
2. Your angles will be excellent: if you are looking steadily at the target, you can relax, because you are getting great video.
3. You will get superior video in the following scenarios: seated at a desk, ordering fast food, observing a bartender, etc.
4. Some targets are wise to the shopper shirt/button camera setup. Going in to a shop with a plain v-neck, no buttons, throws them off their game.

I love my camera specs. I'm ordering a third set soon, and I'm going to have someone retrofit them into an over the counter set of "normal" frames so they are completely undetectable. And that process will remain my trade secret.
I don't wear a dowdy shopper shirtsmiling smiley Mine are everything they say you shouldn't wear, pullovers, solid black, my normal size and slightly fitted.

Lisa, how do you use a button cam with a pullover? I would LOVE to wear more "normal" clothes but I can't figure out a way to do that! And lately I'm having a heck of a time finding button down shirts at all! Much less ones with black buttons. I realize I can replace all the buttons with black ones, but that's a PITA that I'm trying to avoid!
I always have all the buttons replaced since they are never a good enough match. My shirts are either polo or henleys. The hard part is finding them with a long enough placket. When I find ones that work I buy five at a time.

I have a couple of polo shirts and also a couple of chef shirts fitted for the button camera.

For those of you video shoppers in the colder weather conditions, do you ever have difficulties with the button cams when you're doing a shop that takes you from inside to outside, and you need to put on a coat? Do you just keep your coat undone and hope it doesn't get in the way of the shot?
Funny you should mention that. To me taking a coat on and off is one more thing which could cause a camera to shift and a some coats create noise picked up on audio. It also can generate static which can be the death of a button cam. The only way to wear a coat in the winter while video shopping is to leave it completely open and make sure it stays that way. Today and tomorrow it's only in the mid teens with the wind chill taking it down to zero. I'm not looking forward to my video shops because I will be wearing my leather jacket, the one I've deemed safestsmiling smiley

I wouldn't be caught dead in a dowdy video shirt, especially when shopping for half a million dollar homes and more. I have a necklace cam, but have not used it yet.

cubbie,
The folks at Clear Evaluations bought one, tried it out and have decided not to use or recommend them, from what I have heard. You might want to check with Leslie.

Funny, my video shirts not only are not dowdy, but also are good matches for the shirts worn over tanktops or turtlenecks by SAs at $1 million + homes that I have shopped recently. You can find stylish, mostly/all cotton women's shirts at Macy's most of the time. When you turn back the cuff on two of mine, you see a contrasting print to the main print pattern. Same contrast at the neck. Pair with classic black slacks or leggings and you have an excellent business casual look.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I have a couple of polo shirts. One has the American flag and Declaration of Independence on it...I won't repeat what Kathy said when she modified it for me. I also have a couple of chef shirts.
