Not in the Guidelines or the movie. WHAT!!!!!!

I recently did a shop for a Valet service. I have done this shop many times. I always read the Guidelines and watch the movie.

One of the questions on the report is; This question was not in any reports in the past.

"When opening your vehicle door did the associate place their hand on the small of their back?"
WHAT!!!!!!
I answered that I did not notice, I could not give a yes or no answer. I was told that it was very important to the client.
If it is that important please put this in your Guidelines. I watched the movie, did not notice hand behind back.

I haven't done that assignment but, of course, I have an opinion about something. It would seem to me that the other hand would be better in a position of arm akimbo rather than on the small of the back. There might not be enough room in the working situation to do that, and it is also an uncomfortable (and even in some situations suspicious) movement. Is there something wrong with just placing the arm down beside the body?
Is this meant to be a pseudo-bow as they are opening the door?

And if they are opening the door, I would think their hand should be on the door handle. Maybe the other hand is supposed to be behind their back to avoid any inadvertent contact with the customer as they get out of the car? Maybe someone accidentally brushed some lady's boob or butt once and they got sued?

I'd say if you couldn't see where their hand was, give them credit and say Yes, and next time try to pay attention to it.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Sounds like a pseudo-bow to me, like when waiters at fancy restaurants present your plates.

I just did a valet shop where this was asked, and it was both in the materials and in the video I had to watch. Not sure if it's the same company, but they really drilled that we needed to watch for this...

This is why I ALWAYS go thru the current report. I want to see exactly what questions I'll have to answer.
