Questions for schedulers...

Just curious- What percentage of your shoppers are people that you've gotten to know as go-to shoppers or shoppers that you can trust?
I imagine that it would be a strong minority and that most of your day is spent dealing with people who's name you've never seen before or have no rapport with.

Would be interesting to know that. I'd be interested in knowing how many shoppers a scheduler has out in the field on any particular day. 5? 10? 100? 500?

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I do certainly have my go-to shoppers! I don't know what the percentage is though as new shoppers sign up and complete assignments with us all the time. We do have some of our higher end (hotels, fine dining) that shoppers cannot even apply for if they have never done any assignments for us prior and/or they have to have a high rating. I have had some of my regular shoppers get mad at me if I don't give them the assignment they want.

***One way I will approve one shopper over another is if they email me requesting the assignment or email me letting me know they applied and would love to complete. Communication. I love it! grinning smiley

On a slightly different note, I am also more likely to to give a bonus to one of the go-to shoppers than someone who has never compeleted an assignment for me... I do get emails all the time from shoppers who have been in our system for years, never complete any assignments for me that are around them and then finally email that they will do "such and such" shop if I include a (high) bonus ~~ and I see that they are only 1-5 miles from the location. I genarally will pass them up. I'm only given a certain amount of $ per month for bonuses and would rather share that among more shoppers then someone who (in my opinion) is being greedy.

And that is why I am willing to take a handful of low paying jobs with any new company I register with. I expect to have to pay my dues with each company and don't expect them to take a chance with me otherwise. Once I get on their radar, I hope to get those calls/emails for the end-of-month bonuses.
Scheduler Diva. I was surprised to see: ***One way I will approve one shopper over another is if they email me requesting the assignment or email me letting me know they applied and would love to complete. Communication. I love it!.

I was told to only e-mail the scheduler if it is urgent because they get hundreds of e-mails a day. I thought I was doing good because I rarely bother anybody.

I used to shop for your company and never knew they used both systems.

Oh I do not mind emails at all! smiling smiley. There are a few shoppers I've gotten to know from the email communications we have had. I've been sent pictures of their vacations like Wynsom have done shops for us when they were on a trip. Not pictures of the shop lol but pictures of the trip like the beaches in Hawaii etc.

Mercantile started using Shopmetrics about a year ago and hopefully with in the next six months or so all of our assignments will hopefully be moved over there smiling smiley

I still think Sassie is the vastly superior software platform, Deva. I would hate to see my fave Merc Systems shop go to the lesser platform.
Oh from the scheduling side, I SOOO dislke Sassie! It is very time consuming: one example. If a shopper wanted to do a route of say 10 shops, I would have to approve them one at a time (and it's at least 2 steps to approve one shop) but in Shopmetrics, I could simply click to "select all" and then batch approve them. Also, it seems that Sassie does not allow shoppers to see full guidelines prior to them accepting assignments. *I* cannot even view the assignments unless a shopper has confirmed their assignment. I then would have to go into their shop log and click on View/Submit to be able to see the guidelines. I have had to go into one shopper's shop log to pull guidelines so another shopper can know more information about the same assignment (but different location).

With that said, I DO wish Shopmetrics had a past assignments section/tab where shoppers could easily see their past assignments. The only way shoppers can see that is to open Pay Statements.

I used Shopmetrics for about 7 years when I was the scheduling manager for ACE Mystery Shopping and have used Sassie with other companies... however, the WORST platform I've ever used is Prophet. YUCKY! LOL

Interesting how user friendly is affected by job function, Deva. Thanks for explaining the difference from the schedulers POV. I stand behind my opinion of Shopmetrics being a PITA for shoppers however!
I remember that there was one company that would not give me my first job. Eventually, I emailed a scheduler and gave my bio and explained how much I wanted a chance with them. And the scheduler gave me the job. It taught me a lesson to never underestimate the value of asking politely and with enthusiasm.
