Gym shops with long narrative

Does anyone do these without recording? I did my first today and the amount of detail was difficult to remember. I will know more tomorrow if it get spits back to me if I provided enough detail. Anyways I live in a 2 party state, is it just easier to record the interaction? Any experience with this or advice would be greatly appreciated as I have a few more of these scheduled.

I record everything. Even on the easiest shops when I wouldn't need to record anything, I can forget to note when I departed. It's right there on the recording.
I did one of those fitness shops yesterday. Report took over two hours! When I did the tour of the locker room, (male tour guide couldn't come in) I jotted down five or six key words that helped with the report. The amount of information needed was totally overwhelming. I wish I could have recorded, but I'm in a two party state as well. I don't think it's worth getting caught. I'm waiting for the bounce back on the report saying I forgot something.
I did not bring any recorder. I never do when mshopping. I just have my watch.

I went to the washroom to note down some words to trigger my memory. I did a number of those fitness gym shops and by the time I was finished with one, I was exhausted from having climbed flights of stairs or from trying the machines. Just wear your regular runners and sweats. They were pretty easy. Don't worry.
Thanks to everyone who responded. I just don't know how to make these shops worth it. The tour is at least 1/2 hour with the report time easily over an hour. I have not had the report bounced back yet but that may take a few days and I have another scheduled tomorrow. No outlay of $$ is nice but the time spent - yuck.
I know I will not sign up for one again. My tour was 1 hour and 15 minutes... double yuck on the time spent smiling smiley But I do feel like I learned something, as always, so that makes it worth it.
In my area the MS is Bare. They used to pay $25. Now they pay $15 for a non-targeted shop. Time spent in the club is about 30 min. Reporting time is about 45 min.
Don't do them anymore, ridiculous narrative! The tour guide said just so much about bathrooms and if I did not put enough narrative in I could not submit the shop. I thought the point was to relay the information you were given apparently not! The other shops that are horrible is the apartment tour shops. They are the worst, will not do them for any amount of money!

Going to finish what I have scheduled but I doubt if I will do these again unless the fee goes up. The report was accepted, thank heavens, because that was some long narrative. Thanks for the heads up on apartment shops. I have been tempted but they seem like a big PITA to me.
I did a gym shop for service slueth and will never do another unless highly bonused. So much narrative and I wrote a TON.... It was kicked back saying more detail please. I wrote less for $100 fine dining shop for A Closer Look that the editor loved.......
I did 2 of these when they came up on the board last week. I did not record (don't have one), and it was a good bit to remember, but I am interested in getting a gym membership, so like OHNV, I didn't think it was a waste. But with the long narratives on the reports, I wouldn't do anymore at $15.
The cheapest I did was $20 but with bonus. I did some high end and they were $35 with bonus. I did one at $35 without any bonus but it was my very first. I haven't done it this year and I think I should cancel my application for two after reading this thread.
I HATED the gym shops. The narratives were so long, and like an idiot I didn't record anything so I couldn't remember any details. I wouldn't be surprised if my shop is rejected!
I have a gym shop coming up for a totally different company. I'm really hoping it doesn't turn into a fiasco like another one I did. I was supposed to make a phone call then go visit the location. The person who answered the phone didn't give me much info and then declined to let me come for a tour, she said I could not tour unless I was already a member. I replied that I wanted to see what I was getting before I paid for it and she still said I wasn't allowed inside for security reasons. I asked if I paid for a membership and was allowed inside then what if I didn't like it and wanted my money back. She then told me that there was no refund either.

Oh yeah that's a real compelling place to join.

Apparently she was so good at not selling gym memberships she has moved up to not selling mobile phones.

What about the shops that require you to take a class (specifically the boxing gym one)? I'm thinking of doing it because I've always wanted to take the class.

The report isn't bad, kinda hard to get the pics they want but the class is BRUTAL!!!!!!
I'm in ok shape (not overweight, Zumba type workout 3x a week) and this class kicked my butt.
