Tire Phone Shops for $1.75?

I am wondering who would take the tire phone shops for $1.75? I had to squint my eyes to make sure what I was seeing was true...

Since I have not named the client...this was for company SCI....(Shoppers Critique International)

Pffft. I won't get of Facebook for $1.75. tongue sticking out smiley

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
I used to be able to self assign some of their shops for pet stores and other retail outlets, but I can no longer do it. Has this happened to anyone else or are they punishing me for some reason?
They punished me, too. Years ago I did a lot of those pet shops to get Kong toys/balls for my dogs. I did several clothing store shops, too. I remember the scoring to be 5, for their top score, I believe. All my scores were 5, until an editor asked me about buying the 'same' item at two different pet store locations. That stipulation was not in the guidelines, that I could not buy the same merchandise. I argued the point, they finally paid and never let me do a shop again. They had a coffee shop, too, at a well known bookstore.
I'd probably do it... but only if it involved calling, getting an employee name, and asking if they had tires for my vehicle in stock. With no narrative. lol
Five minutes start to finish is the equivalent of $21 an hour. Anything longer than that and fuggedaboutit.

That's too low for me, but I wouldn't knock one for doing them. Its honest work.

"They had a coffee shop, too, at a well known bookstore." >>>

Oh, reminds me of another MSC that I used to LOVE doing a certain book store and I would get the cappuccino, yummm!smiling smiley Sadly, that bookstore, which is VERY famous, closed, it was in a downturn area and it moved up to where everyone else set up shop...
Years ago, I was doing quite a few telephone shops. There was one that was $1.75 each or some payment that was close to that. It was such an easy scenario that I signed up for several and called them one right after the other, taking notes, and stopping often to do a couple of reports, and then call more. I never kept track of time versus pay then but it seemed that it worked well. I often did those shops.
Ring.... ring.... ring.... "Hello thank you for calling Tires R Us. This is Susie. how can I help you?" "Do you have the Firestone SkidMarkPro in a 15 inch rim?" "Let me check.... 15 second hold time .... yes, we have four of those, they are $125 each mounted and balanced. Would you like to make an appointment?" "No, thank you. Just checking prices now. Good bye." "Thanks for calling, have a nice day." Click.

1. How many rings until answer?
2. What was clerk's name?
3. Did they have the specified tire in stock?
4. Did they attempt to make the sale?
5. Did they close pleasantly?

If it's any more than that ... not sure I'd do it. Especially since you could end up with a busy signal for four attempts and a 3 minute hold time instead of 15 seconds and the MSC website might be slow when doing the report.

But ... to do ten in a row? Might be worthwhile if I had nothing else to do at the time. Not worth logging into the website to do the report for just a single $1.75.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

But theoretically, how long did that call really take? From ring time, hold times and then you get the employee. You have questions, and those answers you need, might take time. What if it's a new employee and it takes him awhile to get the answers. And then you have your reporting time.

All that aggravation for a little over $1? I would sell pop cans before I would do that call! smiling smiley

Are there bonuses for these shops?

I have never seen a bonus offered on the $1.75 shops. They seem to be in high demand. I have tried to get one out of curiousity to see if they are really as easy as some say they are, and they are never assigned to me (I have done other shops for the MSC).
