Seriously - For $10, visit 2 car dealers and take test drive

I think this must be a new low. For a total of $10, you have to visit a car dealership (brand and location specified by the MSC), as well as a second car dealership (brand and location to be told to you later by the MSC). "If a test drive is offered, you must accept." So, $5 for each car dealership visit, which could easily take an hour to do. Plus time to drive there, plus time to report it. The MSC must be delusional. Whatever poor scheduler got stuck with one is going to earn their pay, and the enmity of anyone foolish enough to accept it.

Well since you didn't name the brand I'm gonna guess without looking that you're talking about an Intellishop shop.

You are correct. It is an Intellishop shop. And they are also offering a visit to just the named dealership, with the same test drive and the same everything else, for $17. So, go to two dealerships for $10, or go to just one for $17. How much sense does that make?

There is a reason I refer to them as Dumbishop.

Just don't do them.

But lurk for the bonuses to reach an acceptable level.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
sorry roxy but there was one for two dealership shops at $10 as well as one for two tire places at $10. Both are no way in hell at that rate.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
...not worth the time...what I do with such shops is to log-off and work other assignments that do pay. Any shop that requires a long narrative and is offering only 8 to 12 bucks do not accept...it'll quicksand you as a shopper.
I wonder if it was just a typo.

But I don't get out of my car for less than $10 any more unless I'm hungry and parked at a Five Guys.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
You could do better to not shower or shave for two days and put on your paint clothes and make a cardboard sign that says something sappy and stand at the bottom of the exit ramp to the highway with a coffee cup. A professional panhandler makes much higher wages than a mystery shopper and it's all tax free cash, as no panhandler keeps records or pays taxes.
I took it. I was in the area and had some extra time so I figured it was $10 more than what I would have had if I didn't do them so...

/sarcasm off

perfect example of why I no longer even waste my time reading their "offers"....not to mention their attempts to disqualify your reports after the work has been done.....nope, no way, no how
I really enjoy these shops, and I would do them for $1 if they would let me. I relish the chance to interact with the staff at the dealerships, and I don't mind driving out of my way to get to them. There is a lot of traffic to deal with where I am, and stopping at these shops gets me out of the traffic jams for a little while. I enjoy the challenge of performing the shop according to the instructions given to me by the MSC, and I even relish the chance to play a role and pretend that I'm really there to do what I say I want to do. But best of all, I love going home, eating dinner, and then hunkering down to file my reports. I love the challenge of getting them done and filed before the 12 hour deadline. The fact that I have bills to pay doesn't bother me when I go to sleep at night. I know that for $1 to $5 per shop, I am changing the world for the better by giving clients the research data that they need to better served the community. This might seem ridiculous, but I really believe that my little contribution makes the world a better place.

Good one, jilummer! This would have made a great April Fool's!
Even if this is a typo, the fact that it's plausible at all is pretty sad.

Uh, jilummer, I see you forgot to mention how excited you would be to see your hard earned work written at the level of someone with a PhD in English would be rewarded with a fantastic 7 on your score.

Im beginning to be a lot more picky with my shops, only shops I do under $10 would be if I have a busy day and I see a fast food shop, or the grocery store shops. 2 dealerships for $10... seems really low. I even hesitated before applying for that phone shop. Call 2 dealerships, price match 2 cars, 5$. I applied for one waiting to see how long that call takes plus the report. But i figure no gas money at least, lets try one lol

Surely they left off a zero!

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
Yep. They left off a zero. In fact two of them. It was supposed to read $10.00

Considering that they are paying $17 to do just one dealership, it is hard to fathom what they might have had in mind (if indeed the $10 is incorrect) for going to two dealerships, but I am certain that it was not $100 as LJ seems to want to believe (or at least to hope).

Believe? No way. Hope? Considering the MSC, not even that. Realize that is a reasonable pay based on similar shops I have done? Most definitely.

I like this MSC, but some of their base pays are so low. How about the fast food audits, I think its three locations for 8$ total?

Somewhere in the Midwest, shopping / auditing full time since 2014. Will use PV-500 for food! smiling smiley
The fast food audits have gone up to $12, and from what I can see in my area, some poor, unsuspecting shopper or two has picked up a lot of them. I'm thinking after they do 1, the rest might just "flake" back up to the job board...
Poor shoppers :[. But if they're willing to do the work that cheaply - serves them right, I suppose.

This week an MSC (Not INTELLI) put test shops up at no fee, no reimbursement, ( no purchase required, just time).
They are test running a new client and are seeking gullible shoppers to do the shops for free to see if they get the client full time.
TOTALLY taking advantage of shoppers!

These are starting out shops...everyone has to earn their stripes. I would never do a shop for "free", however I did do a lot of shops for free. I did a bunch of menu signs (really screwed up signs that could never be read by the human eye, let alone a camera in the sun). I called 89.5 funeral homes. If you ask Joel - I was the go to Funeral Shop girl about a year ago. I saw so many apartments I almost felt like moving to one even though I own my own home. Those apartment narratives almost caused a divorce. Ooops I double spaced.

My point is ... everyone has to start somewhere and they should take those shops to learn the ropes.
Intelli is now using LinkiIN to find shoppers. A friend showed me her invite to join.... They are beyond desperate. The friend did NOT join!
well now if intellishop raised their starting fee to a little below reasonable instead of nowhere near reasonable maybe they would get non flake shoppers. They now have that same 2 dealership shop but as a phone call of 2 dealership at a whopping $5 but its actually lmfao better as you don't have to go anywhere or test drive the cars. Alas its still ridiculous.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
My very first mystery shop may have been beginner's luck, but it was a car dealership shop for this MSC and they paid $39.00. I had no clue what I was doing and I received a "10" on my report. This was last November and I have never seen another high paying car dealership shop again.

That has to be a mistake. If it's not, we really, really need to know who the MSC is.
