Something "disgusting" in my burger...

Not trying to be mean because I do love their Quarter Pounders (a LOT) but the last two locations I did, one far away from the other, both had this marble, rock thing in the burger, like tiny b-b's. (maybe fat marbles, yuck!!) I am not sure I want to know what this was inside...... I wanted to post here but I thought about it for a few days....and wonder if anyone experienced this?

I just want to say it was awful, I had to spit it out. This makes me "reconsider" these shops because you are buying quite a bit of food and I don't want to waste food or money. I am thinking it's a new filler or someone dropped a bag of b-b's in the mixer at the major MAC-D Plant! tongue sticking out smiley

Anyone notice anything strange in the Quarter Pounders lately?

Ewwwwww. Ack. I rarely eat there or do their shops. I don't trust their meat. Now I feel like I have a reason. Blech. Was it pebble-hard or spongy-hard? Gack.

I'm going to throw up! tongue sticking out smiley It was hard-er...meaning not soft pepples but not rocks you chomp on from your garden!smiling smiley

Either way, I am building up a aversion and the thought of biting into another is a NO-GO!

Could be bone bits.

Interesting.... but it was not jagged or irregular shaped like bone. When I bit the first burger, I said that's weird. When I had to do another location, no where near the first one and I bit into it, it was a small rounded type "soft rock" if you will. (firm but not mushy) and I can't attest to much more because as soon as I felt in in my mouth, I said "OH NO, Yuck!" and spit out...

All I know is, I have eaten these for years and never encountered this. I am thinking some new "rocky-filler!" tongue sticking out smiley
I bet you it is gristel. I've had some of those hard chunks to in burgers myself. Homemade burgers.

I bet you are right! smiling smiley They likely ground that up and that's what I have been eating...
I think they way they grind up the meat, they sometimes end up with small pieces of bone in the burger. It is normally filtered out, but occasionally a few pieces get through. I have pulled out a few small hard pieces from burgers over the years. The ones I have pulled out are much too hard to be gristle.
it's probably that "pink slime" (being serious), they used to put it in hamburg in stores and they got in trouble.......

I thought this myth was debunked (being serious).

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
I don't think the pink slime aka: Soylent Pink stink was completely debunked. Rather, it was disputed that it was used to the extent claimed. I believe it is still used as a filler.

Now lets talk about meat glue. I watched a TV program on that. Eww. It was on TV so it must be true! :big cheesy grin:

I used to find bits of bone in the McRibs. This happened three times until I decided to stop ordering them.
I am unable to eat at that establishment after finding a large piece of "something" in my burger. My stomach just starts to rebel when I remember.
I found a piece of a chicken bone in a chicken pattie when I lived in Canada. I could not do anything about it because it was not considered a foreign object.

That's true. On the old Peoples Court (with Judge Wapner) he said finding a bone in the chicken sandwich was not considered a "foreign object" at best, he said the store owner should offer an apology and a free sandwich smiling smiley
You think that's gross - you should see the whole process from a living cow or chicken to a hamburger or chicken pattie. I am actually surprised more stuff doesn't get discovered in those patties.

I am now thinking of becoming a vegetarian because the thought horrifies me...city girl here, who only got her meat in a package at the supermarket. Never living on a farm and realizing how they do all this, I should also mention, that I have a weak stomach tongue sticking out smiley
Hasn't most of the food poisoning come from veggies or fruit in the last few years?
I believe that 2stepps is correct. All of the food poisening cases of national fame in the last 5 years or so have been due to contaminated vegetables. [Most vegetables are actually botanical fruits, but lets not start that discussion.]

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008

Actually the food poisoning from veggies or fruit is caused by contamination from animal feces in most cases.

yes, this happend to me too!
I awakened in the middle of the night last night and vomited. You folks are making me feel like it's time for round 2. My doctor has told me if I, a diabetic, ever steps foot in McD's, he will fire me as his patient--and I believe he's serious. So I don't eat anything there except an occasional parfait, which my doctor says is all right. WHAT are they putting in their food???

I don't know. I'm not sure I want to know tongue sticking out smiley... But I love their parfaits smiling smiley
Robinv - If you are diabetic then the parfaits are the last thing on the menu that you should order.

Burgers with no bread is the best option and do NOT eat the fries. Carbs raise your blood sugar, plain and simple and most fast food is a carb fest.

The only thing at McD's that is not carby is burgers, cheese and lettuce.
Boutique...the parfaits are yogurt parfaits, not ice cream...if the doctor is ok with them, maybe the doctor looked at the nutritional info...
According to the FDA the pink slime mentioned above is real meat. I guess if you consider the extreme left overs of the cow, which is then "sanitized" with bleach being meat then have at it. Do people really believe that 99 cent burgers are all angus high quality meat?
There was a project someone did, where they put a fast food burger in a jar, and an old fashion mom and pop burger in another. The fast food burger did not break down. It was in the same condition as it was a month earlier. You can probably Google or search YouTube if you wouldliketo check it out.
I was at the mall doing six shop locations for three companies on a busy Saturday. Normally MF is calling and begging to send me to the food court at this mall with a bonus. Naturally, the day that I pieced together the other shops MF had no available shops at the food court that day.

I break down and actually buy a small burger and there was a piece of the clear rubber gloves that was almost 3/4 of an inch long inside the sandwich. I didn't spot it as it was between the slice of cheese and the patty. I did do my normal inspection before I bit into it out of habit and did not see it. Only after I was chewing on the rubber did I find it. I spit it out and returned it to the counter.

The crew member was still wearing the glove with the missing tip. Yuck!

I just had them remake it and they added an extra patty and gave me a huge pile of fries that I threw out. I didn't order fries the first time.

As it didn't go into a report, I can safely shop there when I get the bonus phone call. They will never expect me to be the shopper now.
The parfaits are high in sugar, but I can adjust my insulin to cover that. I don't eat them often, just once in a while when I want a treat. I'm very careful about my carb intake. It's better than eating premium ice cream doused in hot fudge, which I eat once every six months!

Not to get off subject but the shakes are 750 calories (not that we can order them on a shop) but the smoothies are only 300-400 calories smiling smiley We can't order those either! I wish they gave us that option. The Drive-In shop allows Rootbeer Floats, which I partake in occasionally smiling smiley
