You can pump any amount. You will be reimbursed for up to two gallons if you pump that much, but you don't have to pump two gallons. You should pay for the gas at the pump with a card. I always pay cash inside but I don't think it's required. I remember some time back buying a gift card with a credit card and that one went through without a hitch.
