Car Test Drive Shop

I had a car shop that went terrible. I have already written my report. I just reported exactly what happened, but I had trouble with the report because the salesperson didn't try to tell me about the car at all. During the test drive that was only offered because I asked for the price, he literally didn't speak to me the entire time except to say, "turn right." That was it. I don't know any more about the car now than I did before the shop.

ive had that happen more than once.
Its for Intelli they will probably ask for a second by second narrative of the entire test ride.

Once had a video shop where the salesperson spent the entire time stating what an A hole his manager was and he wanted to shoot him and kick his ass .
Hmmm, well they should actually tell you about the car before you drive it. During the drive they should say as little as possible, just give driving directions. Your reporting what happened, did your report require you to personally learn about the car?

On the test drive they should be showing how to use a navigation system if there is one. And how to use the climate controls.
Part of the report was to list the top three features that the salesperson told you about. I was barely able to come up with three items he mentioned, and it is a stretch to say that he told me about them. It was more like, he said, "It has leather seats."
So, just report the facts. Be sure to state that he only mentioned but did not explain features or their potential benefits to you. Did he say anything that would distinguish this car/model from its competition? If not, so state.

Jackaroe,

Keep your eyes on the road and hand on the wheel. Features and benefits are part of the walk around.

Sunshine, you may have encountered a lazy sales person but as Walesmaven and I are pointing out your report should be fine.

i've had that happen..i try making small talk just to get them talking about anything..but one time..the fake sales ploys were so blatant it was hard to not laugh at them.

one car had a warning system that sounded when you crossed a line...even to change lanes or merge onto the highway....maybe once someone crashed a car when they have the crap scared out of them by the alarm the salesmen will start mentioning it ahead of time!

I have done many car shops and have had the same situation as you. If you just report the facts regarding the visit you will be fine.
