Duplicate payment email...send us money back...anyone get this one?

Got an email looks like it is from my MSC that says they accidentally paid me double. Would I please send them the duplicate payment back. No details, no dollar amount, no reference numbers...how do these folks stay in business?

Okay, I will first check my records and then call them using a phone number I have in my contact list. I will not click or get it from this email, just in case it is a phishing scam. Now I will need to look at the past few months history since many of these MSCs never list in the memo a reference number...I have sometimes taken it for granted when it says "Paid on xx/xx/xxxx" in the SASSIE shop log for instance. Another good reason to have my trusty spreadsheet to compare.

Anyone else get a similar email this week? I am calling first before sending any money...oh and I might make them wait the 45 days plus that they usually make us wait...afterall, it has to be processed through my "accounting department"...LOL!

Or maybe I should string them along for awhile like awaiting the answer as to whether perfectly adequate Shoppers can again do the blue banks!

I got the same e mail and the money was put into my paypal account. I did send a check since I could not find 4 shops that I actually did. I only found two. So I believe that I was overpaid from Mystery Researchers.
I did and I paid them back immediately. It was a double over payment. True, the original email was vague but I got the details and send the money back, asap.
Did the repayment this morning, I did not deserve the extra money, therefore it was not mine.
I think I figured that part out. They send out a mass mail to all shoppers they over-paid, then the shopper contacts them to verify the exact amount owed. tongue sticking out smiley
