Limit on Gas Stations

I enjoy doing the MF gas stations. They are quick and I can do 3-4 in close proximity and make it profitable. In May, they limited how many I could sign up for. I hit 12 and the rest all disappeared. I didn't do any in June because they all came out with audits attached. When they showed up on the board again for July without audits, I signed up for 5 before the rest disappeared. Within 24 hours, I got an email stating the client no longer needed one particular location shopped, so that one was cancelled. Gas stations appeared on my job board again, so I went in and selected another station. As soon as I did that, it was assigned to me, but the rest of the stations once more disappeared from my page. When I checked email this morning, I had another email telling me the client no longer wanted that location shopped, so it was removed. Once again, gas stations showed up on the boards and I selected another location. It was assigned to me and when I went back to the job boards, the gas stations were gone. I seem to be capped at 5 gas stations. Has anyone ever had that happen?

Yes, that happened to me this week. I was capped at five and could not see stations. However, on a daily email they offered a nearby station and I was able to pick that one up by going through the link on the daily email.

I see some of these sitting there on the boards. Can you tell me exactly what you do on these? Take pics undercover or present an LOA and take pictures?

What do you buy? Need a receipt? smiling smiley

They are at $9 right now.

Thanks.

There are two types of gas station shops I've noticed in my area from Market Force:

1. "Mystery Shop" portion and reveal with photo audit.

2. "Mystery Shop" portion only.

The mystery shop portion is "general" cleanliness check of the lot, interior and restroom, then a product purchase. There's a $5 reimbursement limit for the require gas and product purchase. Unlike other MSC's where they'll fully reimburse your 2 gallon gas purchase and a $1 in-store purchase, this becomes an issue as the 2 gallon minimum requirement almost always exceeds $5, at least in my neck of the woods. And even worse, the MF gas station shops are less beneficial for the the shopper if their vehicle requires a higher octane gas.

Not sure if you've done gas station shops for other MSC's like Maritz, but it's similar, at least for #1 which I described above. In my opinion, due to the $5 reimbursement limit, I will only do the MF gas station shops that do not require the reveal and photo audit. Otherwise, I'll only take the one's that require a reveal if there's a minimum $6 bonus attached.

Well, at least it's not just me. I was also able to pick up a few more on the daily email. Don't think I was supposed to, but when they took one shop back, it allowed me to choose another one and the timing was such that they were on my board when the daily email came out. So, I picked up several more from the daily email. Now I'll see if they let me keep them. I understand limiting shops, but I think 5 is rather ridiculous. I'll quit doing them if I can't get enough of them to mini-route. They've already lost me on most everything else except for those they bonus.
Bramaw, there is life before MF and there is life after MF. You need to expand your horizons.
Oh, believe me Sybil2, I have. MF was a majority of my income when I started and a great learning tool. I looked at my calendar and realize I'm doing half the shops now and still getting the same pay for half the work. For some reason, it's the gas stations I've had a hard time letting go of. They are so easy. I can take my 91-year-old mom with me and she loves it. Just sits in the car and waits to see what I bring out for her! I also started a goodie bag for my grandkids. I will let go one of these days.
I do the gas ones as well and also have seen the limit the last couple of months after I load up on my first ones. I did one of the audit ones only once due to a good bonus on it....and everything that could be wrong was wrong at this station (which should have been evident when the owner said, "buy someone was just here doing this last week"winking smiley. I'll stick to the standard shop and take whichever ones I can get.
I know we aren't suppose to talk specifics but can anyone give up some names of MSCs thst do gas stations?? I too find them easy to do in the summer especially with no babysitter. I'm in SC just in case you might worry I'm in thr same territory. Any vague information anyone could supply would be a world of help. THANKS!!!
Go to the bottom of the page for the link on mystery shopping companies. Sign up with the most discussed fifteen companies. Done.

I guess there are not a lot available in my area since I am signed up with all of those but one and have never seen a gas station on any of them in my area. Thanks for the help anyway!!
