Market Force thinks you're insane and dangerous

Some things you should do if you have an invalidated report:

Stay calm.

Review the email so you understand what we are saying your mistake was.
...

It is important that you act professionally and in a businesslike manner so that we can both work together. We are working with you to get your report approved and it will be counterproductive if threats or yelling or name-calling are involved. Work with us, not against us.

I shudder to think what they have to deal with every day.

They have it on their news feed. Luckily I haven't had a shop rejected yet, but if I do I'd like to think I wouldn't call them up and threaten them.
I always wonder why people would call up and yell - MSing or otherwise. No one will want to help them then.
I read the notice and never interpreted Market Force as thinking their shoppers were "dangerous".... They are saying this because they have chronic poor shoppers (like the ones that bash Market Force here in the forum...) and Market Force is saying that if you get angry and spew threats (hrmmm...I guess some bad shoppers have threatened them....) that you will be dealt with accordingly 1) You won't be paid for doing a poor shop 2) You likely won't be working with them anymore either because they will deactivate an angry/ unstable shopper.
Judging from some of the angry posts here on the forum from people who bash Market Force (and other MSCs) for not paying them, and then call them rude, unprofessional, and a multitude of names, I can certainly see the anger they probably face. And most of the time, after all the name-calling and non-specifics, the angry posters finally admit to making "a little" or "a few little" mistakes....but they don't see why the company can't "just eat the loss" and "pay me anyway" because "even if I did it wrong, I still did it."
Well, Market Force probably has one of the largest shopper pools around. With how simple it is to get the "in" with them and self-assign for whatever shop they want, I wouldn't be surprised with the kind of shoppers they have to deal with.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
As far as I'm concerned, they really are getting what they pay for. It all goes with the concept of quantity versus quality.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
But it is probably the poor receptionist or lowly help desk employee who it getting reamed out by the psychotic "shopper."
I bet the ones that are truly deranged even go back to the burger place afterwards and raise hell with the teenage cashier, demanding a refund on lunch two days ago because their shop got rejected. Could you imagine?

"The future ain't what it used to be." --Yogi Berra
Considering Market Force doesn't think much of its shoppers to begin with and actually seems to prefer not using "professional" shoppers, they probably do realize they're getting what they pay for.
Anybody here ever had to deal with a teenager who did their chores improperly but still expected to get their allowance? "Even if I did it wrong, I still did it" doesn't fly with most parents. Just like an MS company, a "redo" is required. And a kid that bashes their parents for that openly will likely get grounded or punished in some other manner. At least we don't deactivate them, LOL.

I think MF is insane. Insanely quick. I just submitted a report with purchase receipt. The receipt and CPI were verified almost immediately (not a big shocker) and my full report was approved within 7 minutes of submission. Like I said...insane!
How can you tell if your full report was approved? I can check to see if the CPI and receipt were verified but I don't see any way to tell if the report was approved or not.
Under the first column (Assign ID/Status), it will say "QC" when the report is in Quality Check. It changes to "Approved" when the report has been approved by the MSC. I'm not sure what happens if the client declines the report; I have never been in that situation,
Yes, they are pretty quick with that and I appreciate that. I wonder how it would appear if the report is rejected. Maybe nothing appears. The shopper is just deactivated. Suddenly the website is off limits.
I once had a shop rejected because I misread an important part of the shop. I then apologized for the mistake and for causing any inconvenience. The editor then thanked me for being so understanding.

I thought it was so strange that the editor thanked me for being understanding. But then I realized that so many shoppers must just freak out for having a shop rejected, even when it is clearly their fault. MF is hoping to lessen the amounts of freak outs they receive by posting that message.

I've had a good experience with them until my most recent XXOOXX (client deleted) shop. I'll admit, I made a mistake in the drive through portion by ordering an orange juice, but I provided plenty of good feedback in the narratives that would be useful for XXOOXX (client deleted) to know(vandalized bathroom mirror, a great manager interaction I saw with an angry customer, me not getting asked for sauce, etc). Needless to say, it was quickly deemed invalid. "Simone" made no attempt to work with me, and even bs'd me by saying it was extremely expensive for them to relist the shop . They relisted it for the same fee I was supposed to get. Maybe it is a good company, but "Simone" is terrible.

Welcome to the forum, jay225, and please edit your post in which you revealed the name of one of Market Force's clients. AS a registered shopper with Market Force, you signed a confidentiality agreement and revealing their clients violates that. It's also against our forum's rules.

There are a lot of things that can get you deactivated from mystery shopping companies, especially Market Force. Breaking your confidentiality agreement with them might easily get you deactivated. Market Force staff read here and it might not be too difficult for Simone to figure out who you are by what you wrote.

I deleted the name of the client because it violates your ICA. I deleted the name of the MF employee because she is right and you are wrong, and to trash her on an internet forum because you screwed the shop and won't get paid is pretty nasty.

Remember you are an independent contractor. Market Force is your customer. If you choose to work for them as a independent contractor, they give you guidelines for your assignments. If you perform the assignment correctly, you get paid. If you perform the assignment incorrectly, you do NOT get paid. You are actually mad at yourself because you blew it. Why blame the Help Desk employee because you blew the assignment? Man up and take responsibility.
Market Force has been one of my best companys. There was one shop they sent me a notice about submitting the shop late. I replied to the email and got a quick response. She recognized that my call date was correct, but the submission deadline was not met. I accepted MY MISTAKE, and thanked her for contacting me.

They still remain one of my favorite shops.
I have always had a good relationship with MF. What I have found is , as with any company , they have good employees and bad employees. I recently had a report I submitted invalidated. I tried to explain but the person who read my note didn't try to care.

Bottom line is, I did not complete the assignment correctly and that is not MF fault. It was mine. I understood the response I received and moved on to my next assignment.
I've been with Market Force for YEARS, and never had any problem, just go by the rules and report correctly, that's all.
I have never understood why when people are on the phone and are upset, they start yelling or using bad language. It is so easy for the person getting the earful to just hang up!!!
I have had nothing but great experiences with Market Force. I love the ability to change shop dates on my own without needing to go through the scheduler. They work with me on dates and always pay on the dates that they are supposed to. Yes, some shops have low fees but you can pick and choose. Also, after you have been with them and proven yourself they will call you and offer bonuses for shops they need done. They are one of my favorites.
I would like to jump in here with a comment if I may. MF was the first MSC I had signed up with. I did an insane amount of route shops with them and had nothing but positive comments for them. Then it happened:
I was on a merchandising assignment and I am disabled. I have a neuro illness which cause involuntary muscle movements. Fortunately, the severe symptoms (loss of balance, absolutely cannot sit still, VERY humiliating and disabling) strike very rarely. Unfortunately, it strikes all of a sudden without warning. I have been questioned about heavy alcohol consumption which I deny. I do wear a medical alert necklace.
On this particular day, my illness decided to come out as soon as I got out of my car. I had been to this location on several occasions so I advised management immediately of my medical condition and that I would be able to complete my assignment for the day; however, it would take me extra time as I could not hold still. She responded, "That's fine. Let me know if I can do anything." Of course I did not ask for her aid at any time during my visit.
After submitting my report, MF informed me that the client requested I not return as the GM informed her Supervisor that I had reported to the location intoxicated. Further, I was permanently deactivated from MF because of the incident. They refused to accept anything from my Neurologist proving my condition and that alcohol was not a factor. As far as I am concerned, that is discrimination, subcontractor or not. Yes, I was pretty angry and even more so with the GM! I did not have alcohol on my breath, bloodshot eyes or any other symptoms of intoxication. I had a disability surprisingly flare on me and lost my job.
Yes, it still bothers me from time to time. I am not here to bash the company. At the same time, they are not a company I would ever recommend to anyone because of the incident.
Four years later and over 1,000 shops under my belt, I have moved on to higher paying companies and video shopping which I thoroughly enjoy.
I will say, I am guilty of being very mouthy with someone via Email (I don't recall who) AFTER I was advised of the accusation and not given the opportunity of proving otherwise.
All these years I have wanted to publicly express the incident, now I have. MF, you may have forgotten, but I have not.

Sorry for your medical issue, Kristi. You actually have already publicly expressed this incident, [www.mysteryshopforum.com]

When you expressed it before, you seemed to believe that you should have received an ADA acommodation. If you had been an employee of Market Force, rather than an independent contrator, they would have reviewed your medical documentation to determine what acommodation they might make to allow you to do your job. But, even if a company makes an acommodation for an employee's medical condition, that acommodation would not extend to forcing the clients of the company to accept visits from an employee they refuse. Even with your medical documentation, and even if an acommodation were granted, you would still not have been permitted to return to a client location where they did not want you.

Although I'm sympathetic about your medical condition, Market Force did exactly what I would have done if I were the manager of a company employing an independent contractor. Independent contractors are not employees. There is no requirement for a company to review medical information of an independent contractor in order to grant an acommodation.

Again, I'm sorry for your condition. I'm also sorry that years later you are still brooding over it and still waiting to express it publicly again. I hope you'll be able to accept the situation and get past it.

AM, how on Earth did you remember a post from November 2011? I can't remember what I ate for breakfast this morning! Wait, did I eat this morning?
