Generally for normal shops, companies do not pay mileage. Even when they have difficulty getting a shop completed because it is too distant to be economically feasible for the shopper, the shopper is paid in the form of a negotiated bonus rather than by mileage. I say for 'normal shops' because my understanding is that video shoppers going long distances may be paid mileage. When they are having difficulty getting shops done because of distance, sometimes Harland Clarke pays mileage. Also generally you will do better with mileage being covered as a bonus because the IRS rate for mileage is better than the companies' rates.

In 10 years of video shopping the only way mileage was covered was as a negotiated shop bonus, not on miles driven. Some of the MSCs have been warned by their accountants not to pay on the basis of mileage, according to what I have heard repeatedly at MS conferences.

I've never gotten mileage from a video company. Flat bonuses, car allowances and/or gas, per diem/meals and hotel. Actual expenses are usually on hard to fill shops like a route of orphan shops with a lot of driving and little time to build a profitable route. I can only think of three companies who ever offer mileage and it is always in the 30 to 35 cent range.

I have receive actual mileage, actual tolls and actual parking fees that we not part of the actual shop.

I get bonuses or specialty expenses.

You need to keep track of every single thing..

Are you looking for companies paying mileage for your local shops or are you planning on traveling hundreds of miles?

And you know one, HC. Bestmark has on occasion, but I don't think I've seen an offer like that in a couple of years.

I'm aware of 2 MSPs, CIA and Harland Clarke that pay for mileage.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut

I've seen bonuses attached that make no reference to mileage, but I've seen some of those also contain a note from the scheduler that says if you have to drive far to get there, to let them know and they'd try to get something for the gas. These are most always urgent shops, out of area, where they are desperate to get the shop completed.

Those are the schedulers that you want to cultivate if you really want to make good money at MS. None of the big money shoppers ever neglected the marketing side of their business development plans!

Something for gas is simply not enough. Unless the "something for gas" amounts to $0.575 per mile, it is not enough. It is simply a marketing ploy to try to get someone to do the shop. Probably the same "someones" who think that anything that pays more than it costs for the gas to drive there is worth doing are jumping to take the "something for gas" offers. Not me. Plus, it takes time to get there. So, add in enough to pay for the time which I spend driving.

I actually haven't done a shop yet where they've added for the mileage/gas. I did ask one scheduler when some jobs were taking forever to get completed, but she said she couldn't do more than the bonus that was already stuck on. That's the closest I've come.

Harland Clark only pays mileage on difficult to schedule shops, not their regular shops. If the OP is asking about regular shops, then I only know of one.

I had an alleged video scheduler offer me "some" gas money for a route that would include an overnight. She couldn't figure out why I couldn't just get hotel and food shops to cover my expenses, in bum --- Egypt no less. Shame because it was one of my favorite MSCs at one time and now I've done all but deactivate myself.
