Market Force Gas Station Shops

Anyone ever done any of these? There are a bunch posted...but I am afraid to accept. I want to know what I am getting myself into and if they are worth it. There is no bonus.

It's a typical Market Force report. You need to buy two gallons of gas and something inside the convenience store, and you get a $5 reimbursement, which does not cover what you need to pay. You need to take a picture of the price board and of the station from across the street. I've only done one, which I did earlier this month, and I've signed up to do another one in August. There are not many of this brand in my area, but I would do as many as I can.
Simplest gas station shop out there. The one's currently on the board are easily worth it if it doesn't include the revealed audit portion.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
The ones I do are very simple. I would do more if they had more. I nice discount on my gas for a simple report. Don't even have to take any pictures. (Canada)
I picked up 5...there were 7 posted before I accepted any.... perhaps there is a limit...
Yes, I believe five is the limit. As soon as you submit one, the others may reappear if they have not already been taken.
These are extremely easy. If they are close to home, I can do a route of 5 of them and have them all reported in 3-4 hours.
They are easy and not stressful. Unfortunately, as the price of gas rises where I live, I work for practically nothing if there is not bonus involved. Why can't we just be reimbursed for the 2 gallons?
Here in NJ, the reports are even easier. This particular client's stations tend to not sell anything other than gas. Additionally, we don't pump our own. I don't have to get out of the car, only have to buy gas (usually at the lowest price around), and can be done in about 10 minutes.
These are super easy. Just remember...the cost of fuel and purchase eats into the compensation after reimbursement. Count on 5.00 for each shop. Good as a filler...and a little gas...easy reporting.
My thinking is that I'd be buying gas anyway. As long as the station isn't terribly out of the way, I don't mind at all.
I love out of the way places.... It costs fuel to get there... These shops, and others, offset my fuel costs...

I tend to pick these up as fillers for routes. I consider them worthwhile even if I'm not reimbursed for the full amount of the purchase... the gas purchase is useful to me, unlike the products offered by the hedgehog place. smiling smiley

My kids love when I do them because I can usually find rock candy in the convenience stores.
I am late to the party here, but I love these as well! I hit the limit for them every month! As it has been said, they are very easy (including the report), and I need gas to get to other shops anyway. I do wish they would increase the reimbursement, but I still come out with a profit even after the gas and convenience store expenses.

Happily shopping the Pacific Northwest. Shopping since 2013 smiling smiley
I used to do many of these (but I'm taking a break from this MSC for a long while). I considered the cost of the gas to be an auto expense for me (b/c I needed to get gas eventually, anyway), and the inside purchase was my MS expense. Shop fee covered the gas, usually, if I put in just enough. My inside purchases were usually fresh fruit, 2 gallons milk for 4.99 and no tax, or packaged nuts x 3. Two of the locations I shopped a few times, got robbed more than once, even though they were in nice neighborhoods. One reason I'm taking a break!
I've tried a few of these and here's my take...I drive a 2015 Mini Cooper and while it gets about 40 MPG it requires premium gas for its twin-turbo engine. Premium gas in my area is about $3.50 per gallon so buying a minimum of 2 gallons = $7.00. Then something has to be bought inside the convenience store (about $1.00).
Then spend about 20 minutes reporting all of this to receive: $6.00 in reimbursement plus a job fee of $6.00. Worth it? Nope, not for this boy.
These shops are good because they help some shoppers. These shops allow some of us to keep up our skills in observing, timing, listening, discerning (is the place neglected or does it just look old) and, in some cases, batching work in ms routes or other configurations.

Here is an example: I live in the boonies and any intensively shop-able city (you could shop day after day and earn hundreds of dollars every day) is at least two hours away from here. Because I work early in the morning, I am not available for shopping in the early morning or late at night in yon shopping paradises. This severely constricts my shopping opportunities in areas with higher-paying shops.

Should I be snobby and say that I shall not do the little gas station jobs, or shall I welcome these jobs and maintain at least a few skills which someday may be needed in other kinds of jobs which fit my potential future schedule and provide more money?

Bring on the gas station jobs! Huzzah!
