Just submitted my first hotel report

I am going to sit on pins and needles until I get the all clear on my report. Messing up a $10 report is a much easier pill to swallow then messing up a $350 report.

For MOST companies handing you your first hotel, you'll find that they are FAR more forgiving than if you were a seasoned hotel evaluator with them. Unless there is something you know you totally screwed up badly on, there's a really good chance you'll be fine.

They may ask for a little more detail here and suggest a little less detail there or that you clarify something, but they would not have entrusted you with the shop if they did not feel you were capable of performing it acceptably. It is not in anyone's best interests to have the shop declined.
confused you with another poster! Good luck! I'm sure you did great!

I just did my first hotel shop and am waiting for feedback. I agree the amount of the bill currently on my credit card is a concern. However, I'm sure my report will go through because I hit all the points. Even if they want a clarification or three, I'm confident.

Good luck with yours. smiling smiley

Vlade, if you don't already, open a credit card with rewards for those high-value shops. It doesn't help when it's a reversal, but when you're doing competitor shops with reimbursement, the extra bonuses can make the (never enough) compensation palatable.
Actually, for most hotel for most hotel charges that are reversed, I am keeping the points for the stay but lose the points for using the credit card. Since the latter are worth more per dollar spent (once you gain some elevated rewards status) I make out quite well on those rewards.

I have two rewards cards and purchase almost everything with one or the other. Maybe it is time to survey the landscape to see if there are any better than mine.

We switched to the Chase Sapphire and it's really nice. I originally booked a night using Marriott points for 40K points but later switched to using Chase Ultimate Rewards points and it only cost 30K for a better room. The accrual rate is the same or better unless you're paying for stays at Marriott properties.
