Which mystery shopping companies are the best?

Hello, I just started mystery shopping about 3 weeks now. I wanted to know which mystery shopping companies are reliable and pay the best. Also, I'm looking for more retail shops to do such as Walmart, gap, oldnavy, target, etc. I need to know what companies offer alot of retail.

Gosh...it kind of depends on which ones shop your area. What might be a "good" company for some shoppers, might not have any shops in your area.

You might want to check the MSC by grade list available at msfreedom.org for more information. They have a free list of companies that have been "graded" from A-F by other shoppers based on their experiences with them. Obviously, the companies with a grade of A or B are considered to be the better ones.
My two favorites are Bestmark and Customer Service Experts. I'm in S. Calif. and they have lots of jobs here. It really does depend on where you're located. Read posts on lots of different forums, but realize that one shopper's favorite MSC can also be at the top of someone elses "wouldn't touch their shops with a ten-foot pole" list.

I"m new to all this and have only done two shops of an apartments tow new places and that was set up by a friend of mine .She set it up and asked me to help her and we both got payed .....How nice
i would like to know which company is the best for me to do ive got 2 letters and checks with them and i was told to cash them and call them back should i do that?
ABSOLUTELY NOT APRIL!!! This is NOT the way that mystery shopping works. There are scams out there that are sending out checks of several thousand dollars to "do shops". The checks are bogus, will bounce and leave you owing the bank money. Do not do those shops. Do not send them any money. If it is not jobs that you requested or self assigned (specific dates, specific locations, specific fee stated instructions etc.) they are not legitimate.

There does exist legitimate mystery shopping where the pay comes something like 1 or 2 months AFTER you do the shop and the fees generally are $4 to $20. Don't get suckered in with the attractiveness of the scams.
Flash--
Exactly, but each new shopper reads it only once. Excuse us, April and Mieshalou. it's a private joke.

Newbies all: I agree with nwaz and Joan. I get the most wonderful jobs from a small company that works just with local banks in my area, while some of the larger companies have nothing here. Then again, some of them do. It's really hit-and-miss.

But you have to start somewhere. Register with the companies on Jobslinger.com, www.mystshopsol.com and the two forums mentioned. Later you can always change which companies you do business with. I keep each company's login page in my Favorites, and eventually I can eliminate companies that don't do my area.

Littled--It's a great start, if they said you can have a friend there. But if your company doesn't allow friends at a shop, don't tell them. Always follow their directions exactly, or you can lose your fee. They're VERY fussy about procedure, and rightly so.
If you want the bestsoftware, it is Market Force. It just flat works right
every time. I have done many shops for them and it is the easiest software
I have ever worked with. They even have a status page that shows you that
something you uploaded did go through.
John, several of them have the status pages that you can track that the uploads made it through and see a few days later that they were verified. By far I find the SASSIE software websites are the most user friendly because you aren't "turning pages" to get to further information, you can save easily as you go and return to the first "Oops" or unfilled field and when you upload you can see the thumbnail image. Personal preference.
I started with Shopper jobs, Datatron and Shoppers critique. They gave me the best pay and learning experience.
Bestmark, JC and Associates, BARE Associates, Customer Service Experts, and Amusement Advantage
I'm new at mystery shopping also and purchased the shopperjobs membership. Is shopperjobs legitimate? I can't figure out how to find mystery shopping jobs on that site though.

I will look for some of the companies you mentioned above. I tried this once about a year ago, but never got paid and really did a lot of work trying to be sure that I got all of the information I needed for the survey I had to complete for the shop. I was discouraged and figured the company was a scam. Sounds like all of you have done this for awhile, so I'll try to companies you mentioned. I did get some notifications from Amuzement Advantage, but they were only to pay for tickets to amuzement parks with no cash award. I need the cash payment.

Any suggestions, please reply. Thank you.
If you mean [www.shopperjobs.com]

there is no membership to purchase. This is a legit company, part of the MSPA, and they send their jobs out by email, not through a job board on their site. If you paid for something, tell us the URL. Legit companies don't ask for payment to send you jobs.

Companies that reimburse only will tell you; you don't have to guess. Look at the first few posts from Flash at the top of the forum list for important info.

I would be very careful working for Market Force. They just cheated me out of my time and my shop money. It was a simple **** food shop. Their site had problems entering the information. They took an additued with me fast. Now they want pay me for the shop. They did my fried the same way at the same shop.
