Burger shop STILL not worth it to me.

I have been seeing some "smooshed" burger shops offered with a $10 reimbursement and a $4 fee so obviously I passed. They finally increased the pay to $17 flat rate to entice shoppers. I decided to give it a try. Hubby and I split a Classic Burger and got a soda for $9 (so I made $8 on the shop) The burger was good but really too small to split so it was barely worth the time it took to drive the 10 minutes then sit and wait for it AND dine in plus I just spent 40 minutes on the report after a quiz that took 45 minutes. The reports are as long as some I've seen paying 10 times that much with narrative after every comment section. IMHO, that is not worth it in case you were wondering.

Thanks for the info. I've never done them, because it just didn't seem worth it to me. I'll stick with 5 Guys.
You have performed $170 restaurant shops with easier reports and as little narratives as this requires?

I think that casual food shops may just not be for you?!!??!

I'd love for experienced shoppers to start providing positive and fair assessments of their shopping experiences here.

Just because someone does not find a particular shop their subjective cup of tea does not make it an objective bad shop. Following your example, this forum could become totally useless, littered with people complaining about the kinds of shops they are either not good at or just not right for them.

There are many MSCs that require shoppers to review materials as well as pass tests. Some take minutes, many take longer. Some people take 20 minutes to figure out and pass the same test it takes others an hour to get through. Fortunately you do not take a new test every time you want to shop the client.

As for this shop: it pays more than it costs to do; it's easy to do; the food is good and can be healthy; it does make one work a little bit to earn the reimbursement/fee.

Isaiah, I have to disagree with you on this one.

I don't think the OP was claiming that it was an "objective bad shop". The post title is "Burger shop STILL not worth it to me. (underlined by me for emphasis)
That seems like a pretty straightforward offering of one person's opinion, but in case you're not sure, I point you to the last line of the post:

IMHO (In my humble opinion) makes it pretty clear that this person isn't claiming to speak for everyone.

What are you basing that on? Does the OP complain about a lot of casual food shops?

I'd love that too. Hopefully some more people who've done this shop recently since the new pay format and report were introduced will pipe in. So far, I think we've only heard from one.

ummm..."the food is good and can be healthy" = somehow, just somehow i find that statement to be somewhat paradoxical. just sayin'
I am not a fan of these shops either....I will do about anything but I find them to be not worth it to me.

I sometimes do the burger shops with other MSC but I look at it this way. I figured that the burger shops would be a free meal for me. I don't do them to get rich. You know the cost of the meal or whatever was required to purchase and the amount of the fee for the shop would come out about even. So, that would be a free meal for you.
The majority of the shops I do are food shops. I have been fortunate to find the MSCs for a good number of restaurants in my area. From $10 range fast and fast casual, to $150 fine dining.

I've found many of the fast and fast casual shops are reimbursement only, the ones with fees range from $4 to $7.50. Most with a flat fee cover costs, not much else. Thus, the OPs assessment of this shop pretty much covers the vast majority of FC shops, the OP then in my opinion either lacks general knowledge in this area, or has a personal dislike for this specific client.

As far as healthy, the beef is natural here. They also have chicken. You do not have to eat the bun. They serve plain unsweetened tea.

The report is actually not any easier than before. No pictures required. The required narratives are pretty much the same as at least half the other places. About 25% require more narration, the rest less. The report takes an average amount of time to complete.

The $50 to $150 places require comprehensive chronological narratives, once you've done one and have a good understanding, it still takes at least an hour to create a new narrative, plus you have to spend about 30 minutes filling out the online report. All for a full reimbursement and a $15 - $20 fee.

Of course this subject has been discussed here over and over, those that like these kind of shops should be expected to stick up for them.

When I can find, or read about, shops for $150 restaurants that only require about 30 sentences and 20 minutes to submit then I will reconsider doing anything else.

But not the posts complaining how cheap MSCs are or how bad shops are that most shoppers rely on to make this work for them successfully?

gee, gosh an oh,my,heck (a utah phrase, btw)...so verrry sorry that your tender sensibilities and feathers have been ruffled by this blatant bullying. i have suggestions that might alleviate your concern: firstly, perhaps you might not want to continue to read these offensive postings and then...pour yourself a nice calming cuppa of chamomile, curl up with your cat (or several of them) and watch Mary Poppins. Now, prince or princess doesn't that feel better? no offense meant, of course. and...shouting is not conducive to your mental well-being, btw.

Seems like anyone who defends this MSC or their shops is automatically considered an abusive bully.
