As soon as I got this invitation, I asked if the $70,000 requirement was accurate.

The audits are offered by Intelli-shop, so the pay scale shouldn't be surprising.

Oh, yes, my college education and income and I are gonna trot 45 miles to the nearest audit, spend 2-4 hours on site, take PROBABLY 90 photos, then sweat bullets over the report that PROMISES no narrative (that in all probability, going on personal experience only, will require a narrative for every "no" answer, and will perhaps require narrative for yes answers, too -- you can't tell until AFTER you accept the shop).
Isn't that why I WENT to college, so I don't have to work for less than minimum wage?
Last time I did a non-stayover hotel audit, I was paid $115. I did take over 90 photos, and I did spend over 2 hours on site. And the report took well over 2 hours.

I mean if you earned $70,000 a year (unless you did lots of video shops) isn't that rather "harsh" to expect us to be earning that kind of money? (withstanding your spouse who makes that kind of money + or a shopper who makes great money and does shopping as well).
You also have to have a college degree to do this audit. .

I had to re-read... I swore I thought it said $200.00 fee after reading the 2,653 things that need to be captured. I should have known better. I do $45 pricing audits that take me an hour... no way I'd put myself through that type of headache.
Since the force is strong with me, I foresee these shops bonusing sooner than later...
As snotty as it sounds, someone with a household income of at least $70K per year probably isn't going to find the shop worthwhile. That's a low hourly wage and there isn't any reimbursement or other goodies that come as a reimbursed perk. I'll be interested to see if anyone takes them at the base rates and if not how high the bonuses have to get.

I cannot believe the income requirement or the $20 payment. Uploading the photos, and filling in the report would probably take a couple hours, you would be lucky to make $4-5 an hour.

Last week it was $75,000 annual income and paid $25. I couldn't believe that they thought someone making $75,000 would work for two hours for $25. This week, the income requirement lowered a little, but so did the pay.
Just photos...No narrative. Must be college grad and make $70K a year to take many many photos in a hotel for Twenty bucks.....whaaaa? Although I know a millionaire who would cross I-15 in Atlanta on foot, during rush hour, for $20, it almost seems like the MSC has been hacked? It just cannot be real, can it? Can we hear from a scheduler here?

I got this email, and clicking on the link told me the pay was $30. At another location on the website it stayed $20. Hmmm. At least they are honest about the time commitment. How may "quick and easy" audits have you done which were 1-2 hours onsite? I'm doing one right now and I could kick myself.

There should not be an assumption that someone making $70,000 would not do this assignment. Is there also an assumption that only someone whose salary does not afford them an Egg McMuffin, PJ's pizza or a Five Guys burger shops them? We shop for different reasons. When I started shopping, I appreciated the freedom of choice. Still do. I also welcomed the opportunity to get out of my house inhabited by teenagers, tax advantages, because I'm frugal, for the fun of it, to keep current, get out and about and interact.

This email has been a source of humor for me today. Coming here and seeing it on the forum made me laugh again. I am betting they will drop a couple requirements before they think about a bonus.

I'd do a Five Guys for $20, but $20 for two to six hours worth of work? As a business owner, that's bad business math (for me). But if someone wants to do the shops, I'd love to know how it turns out.

Speaking of spit, or...whatever we're talking about, I once responded completely in jest to an email from a scheduler trying to find a shopper with over $1M in assets. The shop fee was more than $20, but barely. In my joking response, complete with smiley face, I told her that I was interested but may not qualify for the shop since I had well over $2M in assets. Not 30 seconds later, I had an email from her asking when I could complete it.
I had to write back and admit that I was just kidding her, and apologized profusely although I feel like she should have known I was kidding. Boy, did I feel like spit.

Speaking of Hero Citations....I was asked to complete two shops for four hero citations a piece. The shops were close to home so I agreed. Never got the hero citations. Won't do that again.

Isn't this whole requirement for income kind of irrelevant? The income on our profile is simply self-reported, if reported at all, since you can choose "prefer not to answer." If you want to get access to these types of shops, what keeps you from putting whatever you want in that box for income? It isn't like we submit taxes to prove it. Whatever they think they are gaining by screening out all the people that make less than that, can be gamed by the system anyway.
Personally, I have been honest in reporting my income on my profiles. But in reality, due to my wife's disability and not being able to work right now, our household income is almost half of what it has been in the past. Perhaps I should report my highest income, past or present.
I wish shoppers could be relied upon to self monitor on these things. There are many situations that I could present myself as earning much more than I actually do. I think I recently had a saleswoman convinced I was about to drop over $1K on a leather laptop bag and matching carry-on bag. On the other hand, I did turn down a highly bonused assignment for luxury watches. I am not confident that I have the ability or wardrobe/accessories to convince anyone that I could afford a $40K watch. I simply disqualified myself on that one.

I admit, I got pretty excited when I saw the email. Then I saw the MSC and read through for the punch line. When I told my SO about it, he said, "Do they comp you a stay at the hotel at least?" I just laughed.
It will be interesting to see what happens with these jobs on the board. I'd consider doing one for $45+ but I'm not holding my breath.
