I can't ever give away a prize. I just have bad luck with revealed shops.

This is my third revealed shop in a row that I had to have the manager sign the piece of paper saying the server did not win the prize. I can't will them to offer the needed up-sell. I only take revealed shops for businesses that do not have a shopping program that I am aware of and it is always with a vendor tie in. I have one more chance this week to make someone happy. sad smiley

I mostly get to award them but wish it were all the time. It's fun to make someone's day! Maybe next time you will get the pleasure.

Doing what I can to enhance the life of my family! I LOVE what I do smiling smiley
I did one of these today and it sure is fun when you know they will get the reward. I love making someone's day!
I have never done an revealed shop. There is one in my area on my home from work. But it is drive through and then after wards I have to inside and visit the rest room and the dining room. I want to but I don't want to
I really dislike those revealed food shops. I only take them when they are highly bonused and can fit them into my route. I don't get the point. Why can't they be a regular mystery shop?
This place used to have a dine in one.. Guess they don't do them any more or I haven't seen them

I agree. I refuse to do a revealed food shop. I'll do gas station audits that are revealed all day long but for some reason I'm uncomfortable with the revealed food shops.

Strike Four. I'm going to Fedex and mailing back all the gift cards. Nobody is a winner when I'm shopping. I almost feel like the contest is rigged and I work at a carnival. None of the employees were aware of what they needed to do to win ahead of the shop. On the bright side, there was a free slice of pie offered tonight for the dinner shop.

I don't understand why you care? But I guess that's just me.

I just want to make someone smile one time that is not the fake corporate is making me do it.

Also, if I give the prize, then I don't have to make another stop at Fedex and stand in line and get a receipt to mail the unused prizes back. I'm sure there will not be any line there.
I love the revealed shops! Did some for Coca-Cola products at major sitdown chains a few years back... they just had to mention a coke product at the drink purchase. I would usually lead them into it with "I'll have a soda"... at which point they would say coke, sprite, etc. Not the true nature of the program, but like you, I found at the beginning 95% of the workers were unaware of the incentives program... and I had teeshirts, cooler bags, and giftcards jamming up my closet!

I understand why the OP cares. Sometimes I am just rooting for the associates to do a good job. I'm not uncomfortable with evaluating them if they don't but I like giving people props when I can as well.

So you did not follow the shop instructions and lied on the report to give the prize. I won't do that.

Initial Order: Nothing! Wait and see what the initial offer/suggestion from the server/host is.

The entire prize test is to see if they offer two drink options in the initial greeting without anything spoken by you. They will pass/fail before you open your mouth. When you asked for a soda, they already failed the shop prize if they did not offer two Coke products in the initial greeting when they walk up to your table.
I once did a series of eight locations for a revealed shop, and each one of them won the prizes ... except one. When i went to the manager to give him the news, I told him who I was and that I was doing the prize promotion. At first he smiled and said oh good you're here. Then when I told him what happened, he shouted, "Awwww maaaaan," along with a few other expletives. He then said to me that he heard from every location manager that they had passed the test, and he didn't want to be the "only @$$hole" who didn't win. Then when I said to him that I couldn't do that he said, "Maaaan, I knew I shouldn't have taken a $**t and left that b***h alone when I did!" (meaning the drive up order taker). Needless to say I put all of that in the report.
