lost mail HELP

I have never had this to happen to me and I do not know what to do. I received a notice today that a package I had mailed had come out of the box and was lost. They want me to tell them what was in the box so they can try to locate it. How do I tell them it is 3 one pound boxes of spaghetti that I spent 35.65 to mail??? I don't know if I should just not acknowledge I received the note or do I make something up or do I tell them the truth????

If the shop is complete and you don't care about the items, why not just ignore the notice?

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

This has happened to me a few times. I ignored the notice.

I feel bad if you were sending items to a food bank. There is nothing else you can do. The shop was completed.

Regards.
Thanks, I thought the best idea was to ignore the letter but having never had this to happen before I was not sure what to do.
Someone probably thought it must be valuable and pilfered it. Imagine their disappointment.

There's no way to trace your email through your receipt, will your scheduler accept the receipt so your not out $39? I pray your not out the money!
The shop was to mail the package so in my mind the job is complete. The fact that the shipping company damaged or lost the package doesn't matter as far as the shop is involved. I had one box from my shipping buddy open when it got to me. Whoever opened the box must have been confused to find a newspaper and a phone book. It does bring up an interesting idea. Have the packages shipped to a location that has someone to document when the box actually arrived and what shape it was in when it got there.
